Most equity tokenized trading on Solana, BNB Chain takes place outside US market hours

Most trading in tokenized stocks on major blockchains currently takes place outside of normal US market hours, which suggests that around-the-clock trading could be one of the biggest advantages of putting stocks on-chain.
According to Blockworks data cited by The Kobeissi Letter, more than 70 percent of tokenized trading volume on the BNB chain occurs outside of the traditional Eastern trading session of 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This figure is 63% in Solana and nearly 60% in Base.
Meanwhile, Jupiter, a major Solana-based trading platform, reported a 50% month-over-month increase in tokenized asset trading volume.
These figures show that investors are using tokenized stocks to trade when traditional US exchanges are closed, rather than simply replicating their activity during normal market hours.
According to RWA.xyz data, this growth comes as the value of tokenized shares increased by 15% in the past 30 days to nearly $3.3 billion. A significant portion of this value is concentrated among issuers such as Ondo Global Markets, xStocks and bStocks, whose tokens are issued and traded on various blockchains.
The growth in overnight trading comes as US regulators open the door to tokenized stocks in traditional markets. Last month, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) introduced an "innovation exemption" that would allow qualified venues to trade US-listed tokenized shares on public blockchains.
SEC Commissioner Mark Oveda said participating venues must publish transaction data in US dollars, including trade prices, sizes, time stamps and daily trading volume. They must also disclose the address and balance of the liquidity pool.
Unlike existing tokenized stock products such as xStocks and Ondo Global Markets, which are not generally available to US investors, the SEC exemption allows qualified venues to offer US tokenized shares domestically, provided they maintain shareholder rights and meet trading and disclosure requirements.
