Sana'a 48-hour deadline for settlement

The Yemeni armed forces issued a final 48-hour deadline for Saudi-backed militias to leave without conflict.

According to ambassador Arjan; Clashes in Taiz are on the verge of finalizing the fate of this city. After the advance of the Yemeni army forces in the western and eastern gates, establishing control over the northern gate and infiltrating the strategic area of "Sabr al-Mawam" in the southern suburbs, the last defense lines of the militias affiliated with Riyadh have completely collapsed.

According to this report, the command of Sana'a forces has issued its final warning for the peaceful withdrawal of the militias and handing over the city without bloodshed, but some factions, especially the elements affiliated with the "Al-Islah" party, still refuse to accept defeat, relying on Saudi promises to change the balance of the field. The safe exit of some commanders and barricading in residential areas

The local institutions affiliated with the government of Sana'a in Taiz confirmed that during the past two days, they have provided the grounds for the departure of a number of military commanders affiliated to Riyadh, who accepted the offer to surrender and leave the city, to the areas outside the control of Sana'a and provided their security.

On the other hand, the armed groups that are still inside this city of 3 million people, despite the widespread public opposition to bringing the battle into the city, are turning neighborhoods and residential houses into defense lines and preparing for an urban war. In response to this situation and at the request of tribal mediators to prevent harm to civilians, Sana'a gave a 48-hour deadline to the remaining forces; However, Saudi coalition fighters have intensified their airstrikes on the outskirts of Taiz as the deadline approaches, according to local sources, to send a message that they will continue to provide air support to the militants to continue the war. The fall of Jabalhan and the collapse of the military balance in the western entrance

From a field point of view, the consolidation of Sana'a forces' control over the strategic mountain of "Jabal Han" which dominates most of the western neighborhoods of Taiz has put the militias under siege and in severe distress. Jabalhan was the last high bastion of the armed factions in the western axis, and with its fall, the access of these forces to observation and direct fire was lost, and the conditions were smoothed for the Yemeni army to infiltrate in the west of the city. Three options for mediators to prevent Taiz from turning into a battlefield

At the same time as these developments in the field, personalities and heads of Taiz tribes have started mediation to contain the crisis and save the lives of the citizens. According to reports, mediators have presented three options to the leaders of Hizb al-Islah and armed groups:

1. Delivery of weapons in exchange for receiving security guarantees to continue normal life after the entry of Sana'a forces;

2. safe exit to Aden with personal weapons and vehicles through designated crossings;

3. Accepting the option of conflict and military unification if the previous two proposals are rejected.

Local sources, warning of the consequences of turning the populous city of Taiz into a street war scene, emphasized that the forces of Sana'a will not allow the militias to use the civilians and the residential fabric of the city as human shields.
