IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog Series Begins 'Road to #100' - Fall 2006 Fan Fest
IDW's long-running Sonic the Hedgehog series will reach #100 next year, and the publisher is celebrating with a "Road to #100" initiative.
IDW Publishing is celebrating a major milestone in 2027, as the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog comic reaches #100. The publisher has already shared the big developments with a new ad called "Road to #100".
The push begins in earnest with Sonic the Hedgehog #94, which begins a new storyline focusing on Surge and Kit. IGN can exclusively present the cover art for #94 below:
Sonic the Hedgehog #94 was written by Daniel Barnes and Evan Stanley and drawn by Alex Forrest. Here is the text of the official request for that issue:
The desert frontier town of Pinfall Prairie has one solution to disputes: the wrestling ring. In this world of constant cheers, thrown punches and rude words, Surge has quickly risen through the ranks with Keith by his side.
But just as he begins to enjoy the spotlight, reality sets in. Drawn to the unruly nature of the city, the citizens uncover a darker truth that has been hidden under the reign of Mama Stinkerton, the current leader of their city. Now it's up to Surge and Kit: continue this comfortable existence as fighters... or become true heroes.
The next mini-arc on Road #100 starts here! You won't want to miss this one if you smell what Surge is cooking!
Sonic the Hedgehog #94 will hit stores in March 2027. As an added bonus, we can also present a new preview of issue #91 (out October 28th) in the slideshow gallery below:
You can pre-order both books at your local comic shop.
This is not the only big news from IDW. IGN also revealed that the publisher is gearing up for the first major Kai-Sei line crossover event, Godzilla Versus Everything. And in New York, IDW revealed that they've tapped Grant Morrison to write a new James Bond comic.
