Iran Issues Important Response to Attributing Azerbaijan Protests to Tehran

Iranian Embassy in Baku Deems Claims That Protests in the Republic of Azerbaijan Are Linked to Iran Baseless

The Iranian embassy in Baku considered the claims about attributing the protests of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iran to be baseless.

According to Ambassador Arjan's report, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku responded in a press release to the allegations made in Ambassador Arjan's news report against Iran.

The text of this statement is as follows:

Regarding the inclusion of an article in it by Ambassador Arjan on October 13, 2026 under the title "Behind the scenes of ideological provocations against Azerbaijan: How did the issue of covering schools become a tool of interference?" and making baseless claims and accusations about the Islamic Republic of Iran, this embassy, while expressing its regret for the publication of discredited materials, baseless claims and provocative and biased materials, announces the following to enlighten public opinion and clarify its principled positions:

- The fundamental policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been based on mutual respect, good neighborliness and respect for the national sovereignty of other countries, and attributing any gathering, protest or dissatisfaction of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran is a baseless and untrue claim.

- Spreading false news and trying to create a fake connection between the current developments and the Islamic Republic of Iran is only in line with the interests of the enemies of the two countries and Muslims, which is trying to create division and discord between Muslims and weaken Islamic countries, and is the basis for unreasonable misunderstandings in bilateral relations.

Emphasizing the need to develop friendly, fraternal relations based on mutual respect between the two countries, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku expects to avoid making baseless claims and accusations.
