Our replacement players did not work well/ Nekonam: We should have won Shamal like Esteghlal!

The head coach of Tractor believes that his team defeated the Qatari opponent despite the difficult conditions.

According to the report of "Varzesh Se", Javad Nekonam participated in the press conference after the match against Al Shamal of Qatar and made an interesting comment about his team's opponent. He believed that Tractor deserved to win against a team that had 11 foreign players.

At the beginning of his speech, Nekonam said: We had a good analysis of the opponent, but we didn't have a chance to practice. In my opinion, we didn't give much chance to the opponent and one or two scenes that were created were related to the last quarter of the game. We knew we would have trouble in the final minutes due to the fatigue from the flight. The substitutions did not work well and with the inappropriate performance of the substitute players, additional pressure was put on the team and we could not win. We should have taken the three points and we are sad about that. Just as we had a great performance in the last game of the league, we played a very good game in this match even though we were on the road for 18 hours or maybe more.

Stating that Tractor played a great game against the talented North team, Nekunam explained: This team has 11 foreign players. We controlled the game and had a good performance and created many scoring chances. We did not leave less; We shot and headed, but the balls did not enter the goal. The conditions were ready for victory, but unfortunately it did not happen. As I said, the team played well and we should have won. We could have won against Esteghlal. The conditions were such that as the final minutes approached, the pressure caused by the distance and flight affected the players' bodies, and we knew that we would face problems at the end of the game. However, the team played superbly. Al-Shamal had tied the game against Al-Ittihad 1-1. We could have easily won.

In the end, he thanked the Tractor fans and said: I am grateful to the audience. The team was well received. Anyway, Tractor has fans all over the world, and even today fans came from far away cities and countries, for which I thank them. We are ashamed of the fans that we could not win. They definitely know what happened. One team travels directly and the other team has to travel 18 hours.
