Alarm Bells for Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Schools; 200 Schools Need Renovation Funding

Yasuj – About 200 schools in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad need renovation, and securing funding is essential to speed up safety upgrades at these learning facilities.

Ambassador Arjan of the Provinces Group: For thousands of students in Kohgiluyeh and Boyar Ahmad, the school bell is the beginning of a new day for learning, but the quality of this educational experience is not only dependent on the presence of the teacher and access to textbooks.

Meanwhile, renovating dilapidated schools and securing educational buildings along with the construction of new spaces is one of the important needs of the province's education and training system, although the implementation of school building projects in recent years has been followed with the aim of developing educational infrastructure, some schools still need more financial resources for renovation.

The latest statements of the head of the General Department of Renovation, Development and Equipping of Kohgiluyeh and Boyar Ahmad schools indicate the need for 200 schools for renovation, a matter that turns financing into one of the main axes of monitoring the state of educational spaces in the province.

This issue becomes more important when the situation of schools in need of renovation is examined along with educational justice development programs, programs whose goal is not only to increase the number of classes and educational buildings, but also to provide safe education and access to appropriate facilities for students in cities, villages and remote areas.

development of educational spaces; From per capita increase to the necessity of renovation

According to the statistics announced by the provincial authorities in 1405, the per capita educational space of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad was 7.45 square meters per student, which is higher than the national average of 5.4 square meters.

However, per capita educational space alone cannot provide a complete picture of the state of schools. Having sufficient educational space does not necessarily mean the safety of all buildings or the balanced distribution of facilities in different parts of the province. There may be adequate educational space in one region, but in another region, students still study in buildings that need major repairs, retrofitting, or renovation.

In the field of construction, the officials of the province have announced the implementation of several plans for the development of educational infrastructure, including in September 1405, the utilization of 80 educational spaces including 290 classrooms was announced, also plans for the demolition and renovation of schools and the replacement of some unsuitable educational spaces were on the agenda.

Despite these measures, the declared need of 200 schools for renovation facilities shows that the pursuit of providing resources for the improvement and reconstruction of existing spaces should continue at the same time as the construction of new schools.

In such a situation, determining the status of each school, the amount of credit required, security priorities and the schedule of implementation of plans can provide a more accurate picture of the progress of school renovation in the province.

200 schools are waiting for renovation facilities

In an interview with the Mehr reporter, the supervisor of the General Directorate of Renovation, Development and Equipping of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad schools, referring to the need of financial resources for renovation of schools in the province, stated: 200 schools need facilities to implement renovation programs, and if credit resources are allocated from Note 18 and related credits, we are ready to attract these facilities in the shortest time.

Pirouz Karami added: Providing the conditions for payment of facilities and providing financial resources can accelerate the implementation of school renovation programs and provide the basis for using the anticipated credits to improve educational spaces.

He also said about the ongoing projects: the remaining eight projects will be opened by the end of October, and planning to complete the educational projects of the province is underway.

Head of the General Department of Renovation, Development and Equipping of Kohgiluyeh and Boyar Ahmad schools, referring to the status of Hazrat Masoumeh and Hajar schools, said: These two schools are among the big projects underway and are expected to be put into operation in the next two weeks.

Educational success is not complete without proper infrastructure

In an interview with Mehr reporter, the governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad, referring to the educational status of the province, said: Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad has been ranked first to third in 12 educational indicators in the country, and in order to continue these successes, the strengths and weaknesses must be identified and continuous planning should be followed.

Yadullah Rahmani added: "Progress in the field of education requires empathy, more effort, and use of existing capacities, and the achievements should be transformed into an organizational culture."

Referring to the process of implementation of school building projects, the governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad said: The progress of the school building movement in the province has been declared to be more than 11.2% higher than the national average, and this capacity should be used to develop educational spaces and complete the plans.

Rahmani also said about the need to complete educational projects on time: when people are promised that schools will be opened by the end of October, we should not exceed this schedule by a single day, and it is necessary to implement the plans on the announced date.

Referring to the necessity of fair distribution of educational facilities, he added: conditions should be provided so that all students, regardless of their place of residence and geographical location, have suitable facilities and platforms for education and progress.

education; Continuity of success depends on the availability of facilities

Director General of Education Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad in an interview with Mehr reporter, referring to the educational performance of the province, stated: Last year, the education and training of the province had a significant performance in various educational sectors and was among the top five provinces of the country.

Ayub Rezaei added: The province won the second place in the Shahid Rajaei Festival and in the field of final exams, with the activity of 90 exam centers, it experienced the growth of educational indicators in such a way that the field of experimental sciences had the highest growth rate in the country.

Director General of Education and Culture Kohgilouye and Boyer Ahmad, pointing to the necessity of continuing these successes, said: the progress of education depends on detailed planning, the efforts of educators and students, and the cooperation of related groups, and to maintain the achievements, strengths and weaknesses must be identified.

Rezaei continued: "Success in educational indicators can be continued when a suitable environment is provided for the activities of schools and the progress of students in different regions of the province."

The development of schools requires the cooperation of executive bodies

In an interview with Mehr reporter, the representative of the people of Boyer Ahmad, Dana and Margon in the Islamic Council, referring to the importance of education in the future of the province, said: the issues of this group should be examined with an expert eye and should not be allowed to affect the efforts made to improve the state of education and schools.

Mohammad Bahrami added: "Education does not belong to a particular person or official, and wherever there is progress, it should be considered as the result of the efforts of the education and education group, educators and students, and when faced with problems, action should be taken to solve them."

The representative of the people of Boyar Ahmad, Dana and Margun continued in the Islamic Council: The media and executive groups can help to identify problems and correct wrong processes by accurately reflecting issues and accompanying them on the path of development.

Referring to the importance of educational spaces, Bahrami said: Any damage to education is actually damage to the future of students and society, and issues in this field should be followed up with the cooperation and responsibility of related groups.

renovation of schools; A loop that depends on financing

The need of 200 schools for renovation facilities is an issue beyond a credit request and is related to how to plan for the safety of educational buildings and the distribution of resources in the education system of the province. In a situation where the development of educational spaces and the construction of new schools are followed, determining the status of existing schools should also have a specific place in the implementation plans.

The first issue is to clarify the situation of these 200 schools. The title of needing renovation can include a range of needs, from repairs and improvements to retrofitting and basic reconstruction. Therefore, it is necessary to publish the list of schools, the type of operation required and the credit level of each project to determine which schools need immediate action and which plans can be implemented in medium-term plans.

The second issue is the provision of financial resources. The reference of the Head of the General Directorate of School Renovation to the facilities in Note 18 shows that part of the renovation program is dependent on the provision of conditions for the use of credit resources, however, the amount of facilities required, the share of allocated resources, the payment time and the number of schools that can be renovated with these resources, still needs more detailed information.

On the other hand, the announcement of the progress of school building plans and the increase of educational space per capita, although it indicates the development of infrastructure, but it cannot alone determine the safety status of existing buildings. In order to truly evaluate educational justice, in addition to the number of classes and the size of educational spaces, the quality of buildings, the conditions of students' education, and the difference in facilities in different areas should also be examined.

In the meantime, the role of executive bodies and representatives of the province is important in following up credits and removing obstacles to project implementation. Providing periodic reports on the progress of renovation, credits attracted and the number of secured schools can provide the possibility of evaluating the performance of the responsible bodies for families and public opinion.

Finally, the success of the school renovation program will be measured when financial resources lead to the implementation of specific projects, priority schools are improved or renovated at the right time, and students in all regions of the province have a safe and standard environment for education.

Determining the assignment of facilities needed by 200 schools, clearly announcing the safety status of buildings, and determining the timing of funding and project implementation are the three main demands in the path of renovation of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad schools. A demand that should be answered in improving the real conditions of students' education.
