According to Ambassador Arjan, an 80-year-old man killed his 70-year-old wife in their house in Majidieh neighborhood of Tehran on the evening of Thursday, the 16th of Mehr this year, and two hours after the crime, he went to the police station and surrendered.

After that, the agents went to the crime scene and found the body, and the elderly man was arrested on the charge of wife murder.

Yesterday, the accused was transferred to the third investigation branch of the Criminal Prosecutor's Office of Tehran to continue the investigation, and while explaining the incident, he said: I am retired from one of the government offices. I met my wife many years ago and we got married. He had children from his first wife.

He continued: "A few days before the crime, I saw my wife on the street talking to a stranger." They talked for a long time and then the stranger left and my wife went to our house. Then I went home and asked about him and that strange man, who did not answer correctly and claimed to be a passer-by and asked him for the address of one of the old neighbors.

The accused stated: But I did not accept his words and I suspected that my wife was familiar with that strange man and had betrayed me. Doubt and hesitancy made me fight with my wife after 3 days. Then I got angry and squeezed his throat with my hands and didn't understand what I was doing. When I came to, I realized that my wife was dead.

He continued: I sat next to the body for 40 minutes and thought about him and what I did. He was dead and I had no hope to continue living. I felt guilty and 80 minutes later I went to the police station and surrendered to be punished for killing my wife.
