WATCH: US man closes in on world pumpkin record after winning fifth race

A five-time winner of the US giant pumpkin competition tells the BBC he would "love" to break the world record for a second time.

Horticulture teacher Travis Ginger drove his pumpkins from Minnesota to Half Moon Bay, California, for the annual pumpkin weigh-in event.

His giant pumpkin took home the prize at 2,389 pounds (1,083 kg).

But Jinger says he's eyeing a different prize - the world record title - set last week off England's south coast with a 2,857-pound (1,300-kilogram) squash.

As a former world record holder, Ginger says he is focused on the challenge ahead.
