During a panel at PaleyFest (via Entertainment Weekly ), Jessica Lange gushed over FX's "American Horror Story," recalling having to drive herself home from the anthology set during production on previous seasons. The Oscar- and Emmy-winning icon currently stars in "AHS 13," his first appearance on the series since 2018's "AHS: Apocalypse."
"We had to drive ourselves," Long said during a panel discussion alongside co-star Sarah Paulson. "We would drive home at 4 or 5 in the morning, park on a street in the French Quarter and find our way home." Lange added that "it's still up for debate for him" as Paulson laughed at him in approval. The actor, who filmed the third season of "Coven" in New Orleans, said FX was too cheap to provide cars or drivers for the stars at the time. Popular in Variety
During the first four seasons, Lange helped make American Horror Story one of the hottest shows on television. She headlined Season 1 as Constance Langdon, Season 2 as Jude Martin's sister, Season 3 as Cordelia Goode, and Season 4 as Elsa Mars, all of which she reprises."AHS: 13." Long won an Emmy Award for his roles in the first and third seasons of the series.
Before the start of the new season, Lange told "Good Morning America" that the chance to play his old characters was why he returned after years away from the franchise, explaining, "It was really just the idea of bringing back those four characters — and one mystery character that I'm not going to [spoil].
Lange also said on "Live With Kelly and Mark" before the season aired, "At first, [Ryan Murphy] talked to me about playing [Season 1] Constance, which I think was his favorite character. But I said if I could do all four characters, I'd come back."
