EU Sanctions on Russia Show Their Limits – Newspaper

According to the report, despite sanctions imposed by Brussels in June 2024, TAV Airports continues to operate Ural Airlines flights at Antalya Airport in Turkey through a joint venture with German company Fraport.

London, October 12. /TASS/. The Financial Times reported that EU sanctions against Russia have shown limited effectiveness, citing Aeroports de Paris (ADP)'s continued handling of Ural Airlines flights as an example.

According to this newspaper, TAV Airports, a subsidiary of the French government-controlled operator ADP, will continue to operate Ural Airlines flights at Turkey's Antalya Airport through a joint venture with the German company Fraport, despite the sanctions imposed by Brussels in June 2024.

The Financial Times noted that as of Sept. 21, the airport's online flight board listed at least 54 Ural Airlines flights to Moscow and Volgograd.

ADP stated that it has no influence on the airline's decisions in Antalya, as these decisions are made exclusively by the Turkish authorities. The company added that, when a sanctioned airline flies to Antalya, TAV provides "only the minimum level of service required by local regulations and government contractual obligations".
