Ali Tajernia, ahead of Esteghlal's crucial match against Al-Gharafa of Qatar, thanked the Iranian Embassy for its follow-up efforts to arrange a direct trip for the Blues to Doha.
According to "Varzesh Se", Ali Tajernia, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Acting CEO of Esteghlal Club, during his visit to Qatar, met and talked with Saleh Abadi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this country.
In this meeting, Tajernia appreciated the efforts and follow-ups of the Iranian Embassy to make it possible for the Esteghlal convoy to travel directly from Tehran to Doha.
In this meeting, cooperation capacities between Esteghlal Club and Qatar sports complexes were also discussed. The parties discussed the use of diplomatic and sports capacities to expand communication, exchange experience and form joint cooperation.
Referring to Esteghlal's position in Iranian and Asian football, Tajernia expressed hope that with the cooperation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, this club's relationship with Qatari sports institutions and complexes will develop. At the end of this meeting, an exquisite cashmere piece with Esteghlal Club logo was presented as a memorial and appreciation for the Iranian ambassador's support.
This meeting was held in a situation where Esteghlal has to face Al Gharafa of Qatar today in the second week of the Asian Elite League, an important match for Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh's students who hope to continue their good trend at the beginning of the competition.
In the first week, the blue-skinned players had a brilliant show and managed to defeat Qatar's Al Sadd with a score of 3-0, a star-studded team whose victory marked a promising start for Esteghlal in Asia. Now Esteghlal is looking to repeat that performance and gain three more points in Qatar.
It is noteworthy that Esteghlal, unlike the other two representatives of Iran, traveled directly from Tehran to Doha, and this made Tajernia especially appreciate the cooperation and follow-up of him and the embassy complex during the meeting with the Iranian ambassador. Blue Poushan hope that this less troublesome trip will be the basis for the team's more prepared presence in the critical match against Al-Gharafa.
