Russia Remains India's Largest Crude Oil Supplier in September
According to Kpler data, India's crude oil imports from Russia reached 1.82 million barrels per day in September.
New Delhi, October 15. /TASS/. According to the Times of India news website, citing Kpler analysis company, Russia remained the largest supplier of crude oil to India in September 2026, despite the growth in the purchase of Russian hydrocarbons by Chinese companies.
Oil imports from Russia to India reached 1.82 million bpd in September, while China's daily purchases of Russian oil rose to 1.49 million bpd last month, according to Kpler data.
According to Kepler's prediction, in the near future, China will continue to compete with India in terms of the volume of oil imports from Russia. In October, Russian oil deliveries to Indian importers will remain broadly flat at 1.8-1.9 million barrels per day.
India is the third largest oil importer and consumer in the world. The country meets more than 88% of its hydrocarbon needs through purchases abroad.
