Liberation of Nikolskoye Helps Russian Army Disrupt Ukraine's Defense in Zaporizhzhia Region

In its battle for Nikolskoye, the Russian Eastern Group of Forces destroyed a Ukrainian company, 15 armored combat vehicles, and 19 motorized vehicles.

Moscow, October 12. /TASS/. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the liberation of Nikolskoye allowed Russian forces to expand the area under their control in the Zaporizhia region and disrupt the defense of the Ukrainian army.

Earlier on October 12, the ministry reported that its eastern battle group had liberated the town of Nikolskoye in the Zaporizhia region in the past 24 hours. Nikolskoye was liberated by assault teams of the 40th Marine Infantry Brigade of the Eastern Russian Battle Group. The Ministry stated: In their battle for Nikolskoye, the forces of the Eastern Combat Group destroyed up to one company of enemy personnel, 15 armored combat vehicles, 19 motorized vehicles, 29 ground robotic platforms and 48 UAVs of the Ukrainian Army's R-18 hexacopter.

"The troops controlled a large enemy defense zone on the territory of about 13 square kilometers and cleared more than 200 buildings. The liberation of Nikolskoye allowed the units of Battlegroup East to expand the control zone and disrupt the stable defense of the Ukrainian army in that direction. The captured border creates conditions for further advance by the forces of the Ministry of War in the eastern direction."
