33 New Details From the GTA 6 Launch Trailer

The GTA 6 reveal trailer may run only 90 seconds, but there is a lot to see. Here are 33 details spotted.

However, another look at GTA 6 has arrived, which means it's time to delve into the forensics. We've gone through the new trailer with a fine-tooth comb to pick out all the interesting details hidden within. From a look at what's in store for some of its most explosive missions, further insights into Jason's military past, and more than one visit to a steam shower, there's plenty of new stuff to look forward to.

Do not waste more time. Here are 33 details we saw in the GTA 6 reveal trailer.

Multiple shots provide a closer look at Jason, painting a very clear picture of the type of man we're taking control of. We already knew he was ex-military, but midway through the trailer we see him wearing a US Army t-shirt that gives more details about his service.

1. First, the martial arts school that Jason supposedly trained at is located in North Fort Law. Long-time fans know this base as a military base from the first Grand Theft Auto game. In that original game, it was in New Guernsey, but it's likely that the game Jason was in was in Alderney, HD World's take on New Jersey. We know that Lucia is from Liberty City, which is located in the neighboring state of Liberty - maybe they met when Jason was stationed at the base?

2. More prominent is the small print of the word "Marauder" that matches the skull and parachute tattoo on Jason's arm seen in previous videos. Marauders are probably the unit he served in and may be a reference to Merrill's Marauders, a special forces group from the 1940s. Its modern day equivalent is the 75th Ranger Regiment, so Jason was probably a ranger.

3. Jason seems to have fallen on hard times since leaving the force. "I got into trouble in the army, I didn't leave on the best of terms," he says at the opening of the trailer. "They don't give loans to people like me." With such a situation, it is not surprising that Jason has resorted to crime. The cost of living is only going up!

4. Fortunately, Jason's experience in the Marauders seems to have equipped him with all the tools for a very productive criminal life. We see him wearing a special forces infiltration suit, a pair of night vision goggles on his head and a silenced assault rifle in his hands. Two other men accompany him, and it seems that the three of them got off the same boat. While the red night sky certainly looks very Floridian (or should we say Leonidas), a strange reptile on the left side of the scene appears to be a Komodo dragon, native to Indonesia. Is this a flashback to a mission from Jason's army days? Or is the creeper just native to the Leonida wetlands and maybe Jason asked some of the former teams to help with something?

5. Many of the criminal acts in this trailer have a military feel to them. We later see Jason in the helicopter, dressed in a bulletproof vest and displaying a very professional demeanor. He is joined by a dog, potentially hinting at Jason not only having pets, but also being able to use them as some kind of working dog. Later shots also show Jason confidently stepping out of a helicopter and inspecting the holster of his rifle - all small details, but details that help paint the picture of a highly skilled professional.

6. Lucia may not have Jason's highly trained background, but it looks like she will eventually adopt at least some of Jason's tactics. A minute into the trailer, we can see him in a special black suit and armed with a Shrewsbury rotary grenade launcher, chasing explosives into police cars.

7. He wrecks those cars from above, hanging from some sort of cargo net. Seconds later, we see a helicopter carrying a giant cargo in a very similar cargo net - these shots appear to have been taken from the same mission, and Lucia will be hanging from the net either before or after being dragged off the side of a skyscraper.

8. The crash damage is more than anything we've seen in previous GTA games, with hundreds of shards of glass flying off the side of the building. While this shot alone doesn't confirm that the game will feature Battlefield-like destruction technology, it's a brilliant insight into how precisely Rockstar can do environmental destruction.

9. That kind of collateral damage is to be expected from crimes of the scale that GTA usually represents, and it looks like this game isn't going to be any smaller than GTA 5's biggest moments. We get to see Lucia jump out of a car onto a commercial airliner, showing something on a similar scale to some of Trevor's airborne antics. This photo is possibly a preview of the scene in the second trailer, which shows Lucia fighting in the plane's hold while its landing gear is deployed.

10. The said helicopter mission is probably a heist, but what is definitely a heist is the bank job we see. It's actually the same vault we saw earlier in the screenshot we exclusively released back in August, complete with burning bills and Lucia with her hair in a ponytail.

11. For that shot, Lucia was joined by another unknown character, not Jason. We can't see their faces, but whoever they are, it looks like we won't be alone in the heists. In the next shot, we see Lucia accompanied by armed men posing as construction workers, suggesting that most of the criminal crew will be joining us. But are these supporting characters introduced as part of the story or NPCs hired to help them, similar to how the heist crew in GTA 5 works?

12. While stealing physical money is a tried and tested form of securing a shower, it's possible that GTA 6 will also play with a more decentralized approach. We see a biplane flying over the coast of Vice City with the 'DacityCoin' logo emblazoned on it. It's probably some kind of Bitcoin scam, but why is it so prominent in the trailer? Why is a man hanging from the wing of an airplane and using bright pink smoke? Our theory is that Jason and Lucia will be involved in some kind of scam, a stunt to promote a fake cryptocurrency.

13. Airplanes aren't the only high-speed thrills in the show. A little later we see street racing, a side activity first seen in August's extended appearance.

14. Of course, most of GTA's high-speed driving is a race against the police. A brief car chase sequence finds one of our heroes behind the wheel of a lime-green supercar dodging cops coming in from all directions. Every new trailer seems to feature new cars, and we get a quick look at the new Invetero Coquette, which can be glimpsed for a split second – watch out for its faux turquoise and pink hues.

15. For those who prefer waves to asphalt, they may find more joy in the Shasa, which appears to be a new boat model for GTA 6. This seems to be Jason's reality at the beginning of the story - with his army days behind him, he works as a laborer at Bryan's marina.

16. Brian's business looks pretty busy—the rental racks are full of boats and jet skis—but Leonidas is home to much bigger companies than local merchants. In the background of an early photo, we can see a Globe Oil truck. We've seen Globe Oil in a few other games - you might recognize them from GTA 4 or even Chinatown Wars where we used the company's oil to make fiery molotov cocktails.

17. Speaking of fiery, there's definitely a flame between Lucia and Jason, which can be seen on the apartment's balcony overlooking the beach. It's a different safe house compared to the humbler one we saw in the extended view, and suggests that we'll be moving in the world as well as around it.

18. "Are we going to be okay?" Lucia asks. "We've stuck together through everything," replies Jason, emphasizing the unrelenting nature of the couple's story. We just have to get through it. They won't be alone, but with lots of other characters helping them.

19. I hope Cal isn't the sharpest mind of them all. Whenever we've seen him in trailers so far, he's always been portrayed as a bit of a goofball. We see her playing with a pet snake and flicking her forked tongue to her lips.

20. Speaking of reptiles, an iguana can be spotted crossing the road, further enhancing the diversity of wildlife throughout the state of Leonidas. GTA 6 has an animal detection system that allows us to find and catalog all of them.

21. We take a quick look at the rap duo, Real Dimez, consisting of Roxy and Bae-Luxe. We don't know much about them yet. Can they be friend or foe? We know they're signed to Only Raw Records, club giant Boobie Ike's label, but he too remains a mystery to us.

22. Someone we know we don't want to get on the wrong side of is Mendez, a deputy city police officer, who can be glimpsed briefly in one photo. He certainly feels like he'll be one of GTA 6's main antagonists, and he'll have a face similar to that of Samuel L. Jackson's Officer Ten Penny in San Andreas.

23. We can see more police as several police cars go off-road in pursuit of their suspect. These belong to Mariana County, the part of the map where the keys to Leonidas are found.

24. When they're not hunting Jason and Lucia, it looks like the police still have a lot going on around the state. We see a close-up of what looks like tattooed gang members in a green car. One of them is sports ink that reads "EW". Could it be a clue to the name of this band? Now take your guesses

25. And are the people wearing hats and dancing around a pile of gold AKs part of a weirdo gang? They've either watched Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers too many times or they're just modeling guns. The camera looks at them through a digital lens, so maybe this could be a photo or music video for one of the Only Raw artists?

26. On the protagonist's side, we see Jason and Lucia's apparent accomplice and expert bank robber, Raul Bautista, threaten a man at a construction site. This area appears to be owned by Schlott Construction, if the sign in the background is anything to go by. The company has appeared as part of GTA Online's vehicle import/export update, but it looks like it will have a more physical presence in the world of Leonidas.

27. Raul seems to be enjoying his bullying, eating some chicken while stomping on a man. Could this be a bucket from Cluckin' Bell? If so, they've changed their packaging design significantly since their GTA San Andreas days, with a look from their real-life counterpart, KFC, seen here. However, I am not sure about the quality of that chicken. There doesn't seem to be much meat on that drumstick.

28. Jason is clearly more of a hip guy. He can be seen with his love, Lucia, helping each other get clean in the shower. There is nothing else to see here but two people who really care about each other's health. His commitment to cleanliness is such that he even wipes the shower with his hand, and Lucia gives him a thank-you kiss for his help. Once again, a little later in the trailer, we get a look at taking care of each other. Lucia is on her tiptoes, probably so she can get up enough to wash Jason's hair for her. Super useful. I hope his ankles are waterproof, otherwise this could all end in disaster.

29. Taking a shower sounds like a good idea, because GTA 6 looks like it's going to be a sweaty game. We've heard about the rock star's precision sweat tech, and now we get to see it in action thanks to a guy bending over for us at the gym. I hope we don't have to fight him.

30. But if we do, bringing along some knuckle dusters might be a problem. Smart move. We can see Jason popping some. This melee weapon has appeared in numerous GTAs, but when we visited in the 1980s, it was known as Brass Knuckles in Vice City.

31. To take down enemies within a few feet, Jason needs a variety of weapons. We see him holding a sniper rifle and in the reflection of the field we can see a helicopter about to crash. In an earlier shot in the trailer, we can see the aftermath of Jason pulling the trigger, as he drives away in a helicopter that hits a flameball behind him. As we know, cool people don't look at explosions. We can also see a phone in his ear - you'd never guess it. Who is talking to him? Probably not the pilot anymore, at least.

32. While we're trying to piece together the pieces of the story, the gold dress Lucia is wearing at the end of this trailer is the same dress shown in trailer 2. It looks like it could all be part of a big mission that starts with a yacht, heading to the Nine1Nine club, where Jason and Lucia climb up through the roof. Why do they need to escape? We will all soon find out on November 19th.

33. Soundtracking the entire trailer is a new single recorded just for the game by French electronic duo Justice, who also compose the original score for the game. "Flower in a Hurricane" also features Australian psychedelic acts Tame Impala, Australian rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and American singer-songwriter SZA. We've yet to see an actual storm in all of our looks at GTA 6 so far, but we do know that severe weather will play a big part in the game.

So, here's what we found. Is there anything we might have missed? Let us know in the comments below. If you missed any of our other trailers or deep dives into the world of GTA 6, you can check them out here. Not much time to go. We are almost there.
