Jackson, in fact, turned the Super Bowl halftime show from a largely skippable intermission into one of the most anticipated events on television. Before Jackson, this position was usually headlined by bands and their front-runners. After Jackson, the stage was graced with the likes of U2, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce and Bad Bunny. Jackson's set featured dance and indelible costumes. And she combined dance perfection with an emotional core in a set that included "Jam," "Billie Jean," "Black or White," "We Are the World" and "Healing World."
The documentary is directed and produced by Bao Nguyen, who directed the sensational documentary "We Are the World" "The Greatest Night in Pop Music". "Spectacle: Michael Jackson at the Super Bowl" is produced by Jesse Sisgold, Jon Weinbach and Lauren Gaffney for Skydance Sports. John Branca for Optimum Productions; and Amit D for Into the Deep End films. Executive producers are Karen Langford for Optimum and Ross Ketover, Ken Rodgers, Keith Cossrow and Jessica Boddy for NFL Films.
The film comes almost a year after Lionsgate's hit biopic Michael, starring Jackson's nephew, Jafar Jackson. A sequel is in the works.
