Need to Form Retirees' Associations in All Executive Agencies of Ilam Province
Ilam – The Deputy for Management and Human Resources Development of the Ilam Governorate stressed the need to form retirees' associations in all executive agencies of the province.
According to the report of Mehr reporter, Afshin Karimi pointed out the importance of honoring the retirees of the province on Monday afternoon and stated: Respecting those who have spent many years of their lives to serve the people is a right. These loved ones have a great right on the shoulders of the society and good deeds in this field should be encouraged to be repeated.
Referring to the growing trend of the elderly population, he added: Our elderly population is increasing day by day, and if 20 years ago there were only a few retired people in Ilam, today we are facing a new phenomenon in which we must consider the conditions of these people in urban architecture, traffic and all issues. Because a retiree may not be able to climb the stairs due to a knee problem, and the municipality should take this issue into account.
The deputy governor of Ilam stated: After 30 to 35 years of work, a person's life suddenly changes and this issue can affect his soul and spirit. Therefore, we need to consider entertainment, therapy, and post-retirement programs more seriously for the aging population.
Referring to the economic pressure on retirees, he noted: In the current situation, this pressure is more for the retired community; Because at the same time as benefits are cut and salaries dry up, treatment costs increase and supplementary insurance does not have enough coverage.
The deputy governor of Ilam emphasized the necessity of forming a pensioners' center in all institutions and stated: If the pensioners' centers are active, they can pursue their demands through legal channels.
Pointing to the necessity of interaction between the institutions and the centers, he added: Managers should have a meeting with the retirees' center and choose one of the members of the center as an honorary consultant in the field of retirees to be aware of their issues and problems.
In the end, the deputy governor of Ilam emphasized: In coordination with the governor and other officials, the necessary letters to follow up on the demands of retirees should be prepared and sent at the national level, and the capacity of centers should be used to effectively follow up on the demands of this hard-working group.
