The first day of the world age group karate competition ended with the promotion of two representatives of our country to the under-21 age group ranking meeting.

According to the reporter of Mehr, the fourth round of world age group karate competitions started yesterday with the participation of 1865 karatekas from 107 countries hosted by Poland in the city of Bielsko Biala.

On the first day of this competition, individual and team kata competitions were held, as well as women's under-21 committee competitions, where only two representatives of our country got a chance to win a medal by reaching the ranking meeting.

Ghazal Fathi, representative of the 50-kg weight class, started his career with a 6-1 advantage over "Adela Guirma" from England, and then defeated "Carla Guardano" from Spain 4-1 and "Alexandra Wolff" from Germany 3-0 and went to the semi-finals. At this stage, Fathi failed to advance to the finals after a 1-1 draw against "Agnes Ayman" from Sweden. On Sunday, he will visit "Yamaguchi" from Japan to win the bronze medal.

In the weight of -55 kg, Fatemeh Jafarnjad defeated "Rina" from Mexico with a score of 1-0 in the first round and then defeated "Buse Kilic" from Turkey in the senshu rule (first score). He won 8-3 in the quarter finals in the fight with "Zhanzim Bodda" Yegutoa from Kazakhstan. In the semi-final stage, Jafarnjad lost the result to "Sali Abdo" from Egypt and failed to advance to the final. He will also fight with "Tarko Raumaise" from Morocco to win the bronze medal on Sunday.

Matin Freemand in the under-21 boys individual kata, Mehrab Khakneshin, Mohammad Abazarian and Mohammad Rezaei in the youth team kata, Zahra Rezazadeh in -61 kg, Omid and Mehla Sadaqat in +68 kg, were eliminated from the tournament after defeating their rivals.
