The director of Microsoft warned about the cancellation of visas for foreign workers

Microsoft CEO Brad Smith warned that the Trump administration's move to limit access to green cards for foreign workers could hurt America's technological competitiveness.

Microsoft CEO Brad Smith warned that the Trump administration's move to limit access to green cards for foreign workers could hurt America's technological competitiveness.

According to Ambassador Arjan's report, quoted by Reuters, Smith also reacted to the accusations of J.D. Vance, the Vice President of the United States, regarding Microsoft's abuse of the H-1B visa program, and called these accusations completely baseless.

His comments come as Vance recently announced that the US government would not allow Microsoft and seven other technology companies to receive green cards for skilled foreign workers.

Smith also said efforts to block permanent residency for skilled immigrants could seriously damage America's tech sector for more than a generation.

The Microsoft executive also rejected claims that foreign-born workers are paid less than American workers. He said that the company, regardless of the immigration status of the employees, uses the same payment and service compensation system for all of them.
