Will Mobile Operators' Internet Tariffs Change?
Mobile internet tariffs from operators are likely to rise by up to 40 percent, with further details to be announced after the official notice is published.
According to Ambassador Arjan, the official announcement about this price increase has not been published yet, but the internet tariff increase has been confirmed by the relevant institutions and more details will be announced after the official announcement.
Last year, following the request of the operators in May 1404 to revise the price of internet packages, the decision-making authorities agreed with a 20% increase in the tariff of internet packages at this stage, and at that time it was announced that the revision of the tariff of internet packages has been carried out due to the conditions of oppressive sanctions, economic inflation, increase in exchange rate and a sharp increase in the costs of development, maintenance and operation of the network.
At that point, the tariff revision of all mobile internet and TD-LTE packages was increased up to a maximum of 20%, from the morning of Tuesday 11 December 1404, and in various sales channels, it was gradually applied and it was announced that the packages that were purchased before will remain active until the end of the validity period. Also, the basic tariff of mobile internet has remained the same.
At the same time, the Regulatory Organization for Radio Communications announced in an announcement: Following the repeated requests of communication operators to increase the Internet tariff over the past year, numerous expert meetings were held in this regard in the regulator, and according to the technical and economic documents provided by the operators, regarding the multifold increase in infrastructure development costs, the cost of foreign currency purchases and manpower over the past 3 years on the one hand, as well as the importance of paying attention to the economic status and livelihood of users and the state of network quality, on the other hand, the permission to increase the maximum 20% was received from relevant authorities only for mobile internet. Therefore, any violation by mobile phone operators of the allowed increase will be monitored by the Radio Communications Regulatory Organization and the violators will be dealt with. Based on this, mobile phone subscribers can report the issue by calling 195 if they see tariff violations.
