Trump predicts a major new recession for America if Democrats win the November election

The US president also promised every American $5,000 if Republicans win

New York, October 14. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has said the United States will face a new Great Recession if Democrats win the mid-term congressional elections in November.

"If the Democrats win, you're going to have a 1929-style recession," he said, speaking to supporters in Alaska. "If the Republicans win, you'll each get $5,000 in your pocket and you'll have economic success for our country like we've never seen before," Trump added.

The Great Depression was a worldwide economic depression that began in 1929 with the stock market crash in the United States and lasted until about 1939. Industrial cities were hit the hardest, construction almost stopped, agricultural prices fell sharply, while unemployment affected 14 million people in the United States.
