Another Goal Against Khaibar; Igor Sergeev Seeks to Repeat Past Success
Uzbek star Igor Sergeev of Persepolis scored against Khaibar last season and now aims to repeat that brilliance in today's match.
According to "Varzesh Se", in the winter of last year, the rumor of the transfer of Igor Sergeev, the proud football star of Uzbekistan, to the Persepolis club created a special excitement among the fans of this team. Igor Sergeev is a famous name in Uzbek football, who has achieved a remarkable and successful record as Mr. Goal and the best player of the season in Pakhtakor club. This transfer was finalized at the beginning of the winter season, and from the second half of the season, we saw the presence of this Uzbek star in the Persepolis lineup.
Igor Sergeev's presence in Tehran was accompanied by a spectacular match on a snowy day against Sepahan; where this player scored the second goal of Persepolis and of course was expelled from the field in the final moments. In the following, Igor Sergeev managed to score four times in a total of eight games and in the first months of his presence in the dressing room of Persepolis, he left good statistics. But he also managed to score during the defeat of Persepolis last season against Khyber on March 1st.
At a time when Persepolis under the leadership of Osmar Vieira faced consecutive losses and did not have good conditions, Igor Sergeev got the chance and scored the only goal of his team in the final moments and on the rebound of Khyber Sangarban. But this goal did not lead to the return of Persepolis and they were defeated by Khyber 1-2 at home, just like the first game.
Now this Uzbek star has prepared himself to face Khyber in recent days and hopes to be in the regular lineup. There is a possibility that Ali Alipour and Igor Sergeev will form a pair in the attack line of Persepolis for today's game, and if this happens, this Uzbek star will look to score again against the representative of Khorramabad.
