Vision star Paul Bettany admits shocking Avengers script leak: he's building Infinity War

Everyone knows how seriously Marvel takes script security. For example, the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron revealed in 2015 that script pages had to be cut into pieces each day on set to prevent the story from leaking online. Marvel doesn't email scripts; it has a security guard who delivers them. But what if an Avenger accidentally leaves their script on a plane?

Marvel does not email scripts, but has a security guard deliver them. But what if an avenger accidentally left his script on the plane?

That's exactly what Paul Bettany, who plays Vision on the new Disney+ show VisionQuest, did with the Avengers: Infinity War script. The British actor made a shocking revelation on Virgin Radio, admitting he had to tip $500 to get out of a hole he'd dug for himself.

"I've never told anyone this, but I left the entire Infinity War script on a plane once," Bethany began.

"And I got off the plane and I was in my car and I was like, 'Oh ... oh ... oh no!'

And I was lucky enough to have a greeter who was a genius, and I asked the greeter to go and get it. And I tipped the greeter $500."

It's a lucky escape for Bethany, who risked ruining one of the biggest Marvel movies of all time. That greeting certainly earned them a tip, and they had to take to the air again to find that stray script.

Incidentally, Hampshire admitted to missing a script for VisionQuest and says that when they couldn't turn sides (scenes to do that day, security came to their house). “Yes! I didn't know they were valuable. I probably threw them out!” he said

The MCU is full of examples of its actors ruining key plot points. Ahead of the release of Age of Ultron, Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen has revealed the intense security measure during filming. He told the BBC: "It was so funny that we had to burn our sides for the day... We weren't allowed to go home with our little plates of anything we photographed that day. “They took it from our trailers and chopped it up. It's so crazy."

And in an almost amusingly prophetic comment on Bethany's revelation, Olsen said at the time that The Avengers should be seen on the big screen. "These films are not airplane films... they deserve to be seen in cinemas the way they were made."

VisionQuest begins today, October 13th at 6pm PT / 9pm ET. Check out the revised VisionQuest release schedule here and a spoiler-free review of VisionQuest episodes 1 and 2 here.
