Cultural Justice in Zanjan Will Be Achieved Through Fair Distribution of Credits
Zanjan – The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province, stressing the need to decentralize cultural and artistic activities, said that cultural justice in the province will be achieved through the fair distribution of credits and facilities.
According to Ambassador Arjan Jafar Mohammadi, on Monday, during the Culture Day ceremony at the 11th Zanjan Book Fair, he pointed out the features of the centralized organization of this event and added: In this fair, 300 publishers from all over the country have participated with 20,000 book titles, and a 30% discount for all books up to two million Tomans has been considered.
Emphasizing that the book fair should not be seen as just a book store, he added: At least 50% of cultural resources and credits should be allocated so that the cities also benefit from these capacities.
Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province, referring to the policies of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the field of decentralization of cultural and artistic activities, stated: One of his slogans is that Iran is not only Tehran, and we also believe that Zanjan is not only the city of Zanjan; Rather, cities should have their share of all cultural and artistic activities.
Mohammadi continued: In this direction, we are continuing to move some of the activities, even provincial and national festivals, to the cities that need more support.
Referring to his responsibility in following the policies of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, he said: the most important axes of these policies are decentralization, popularization and justice in the distribution of cultural facilities.
Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province continued: Of course, justice does not mean equality, but cultural facilities and opportunities should be provided according to the capacities and needs of each region.
Referring to the cultural position of Abhar city, he said: Abhar is one of the largest cities in the province in terms of cultural and artistic capacities, and the nobles from this city have provided great services to the culture of this region.
Mohammadi, referring to the issue of cities being abandoned in holding cultural events, added: "All our efforts are to ensure that all cities are present in this event."
Stating that holding such a program requires a look beyond the concept of a book fair, Mohammadi noted: We do not consider the title of an exhibition or a book store to be sufficient for this event; Because we are facing a big cultural festival in which the presence and participation of all the cities of the province should be provided.
The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province emphasized that the inequality in the distribution of resources and facilities is a deep-rooted and historical problem, and stated: The crisis of distribution of resources and facilities is a chronic historical problem and it is not going to be solved in one or two years. But our duty is to move in the direction of correcting this situation.
