Bushehr Children Connect with Children's Songs
Bushehr – The Bushehr director of the Intellectual Development Center for Children and Adolescents, referring to the special program 'Meeting the Poet; Meeting the Sea' held with poet and writer Asadollah Shabani in Bushehr to mark National Children's Week, stressed that Shabani has played a prominent role in nurturing children's imagination in this land through his touching works and children's songs.
Samieh Rasouli told the reporter of Iran's Ambassador Arjan in Bushehr: National Children's Week is a valuable opportunity to pay deeper attention to the world of children, their cultural and emotional needs, and to provide a context for growth, flourishing of talents and experiencing moments full of joy and learning. In this regard, Bushehr Province Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents has tried to make an effective contribution to strengthening the creativity and nurturing the thinking of the future generation by designing diverse programs that suit the needs of children.
He continued: holding the program "meeting the poet; "Meeting the Sea" with the presence of Asadollah Shabani, a well-known poet and writer in the field of children and teenagers, on the 21st and 22nd of October in the cities of Bushehr and Deir, is one of the special programs planned on the occasion of Children's Week in the province.
The director general of Bushehr Children and Adolescent Intellectual Development Center emphasized: Asadollah Shabani is one of the prominent and enduring figures of Iranian children and adolescent literature, who has tied the hearts of different generations to the world of poetry and books for years by creating pleasant works and children's songs, and has played a prominent role in the fertility of the children's imagination of this land.
According to Rasouli, this program is a valuable opportunity to meet, talk with the poet, read poetry, reminisce, book introduction, book signing party, etc. Children and students are the main audience of this cultural event, and along with them, elementary teachers, child educators, poets and activists in the field of children and interested parents are also planned.
The director general of Bushehr Children and Adolescents Intellectual Development Center said: Our goal is that instead of only encountering poetry in the form of books of poems and stories or textbooks, children and teenagers have an opportunity to meet the poet, talk with him, listen to his poems and learn about the imaginary world of literature. Also, one of our main goals for holding this program is to strengthen the bond and friendship between the child and the author and the book.
Pointing out that the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents by holding these programs emphasizes the role of poetry and literature as an effective educational tool in the development of children's personality, he clarified: Poetry can be a window to know the world, express feelings, strengthen the power of imagination and foster creativity. The direct acquaintance of students with poets provides the opportunity for children to get acquainted with the process of literary creation, ask their questions and follow their talents and interests with more confidence. We hope that this meeting will be a spark for the formation of a lasting interest in poetry, reading and writing among students.
Rasouli emphasized: choosing the title "meeting the poet; "Meeting the sea" was also done with a look at the cultural and geographical identity of Bushehr province, where the sea is an inseparable part of the life, culture, memories and imagination of its people. For us, the sea is a symbol of the breadth of thought, freedom of imagination and endless horizons before children. Therefore, in this program, we have tried to establish a meaningful link between the world of poetry and literature with the native environment and identity of the children of the province.
The Director General of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents of Bushehr province reminded: Considering the importance of equal access of children to cultural opportunities, it was decided to hold this program in two cities of Bushehr and Deir, which is an opportunity to expand literary activities in the province and provide students with valuable cultural experiences. We believe that literary and artistic talents are not limited to one city or region and every child, in any part of the province, should have the opportunity to experience, learn, be seen and flourish.
He then pointed out the centrality of books in all occasions and programs of the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents and stated: Books and reading have always been one of the main axes and main highways of the cultural, artistic and literary activities of the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents and it has never been abandoned; In the center's summer programs, we tried to put the principle on the book, with the difference that we did not see the book as an activity limited to borrowing and reading, but as a starting point for many cultural, artistic, literary and even scientific activities.
Rasouli continued: In the summer that we passed, the artistic cultural centers of the intellectual development center of the province, in addition to holding various cultural, artistic, literary and scientific workshops, programs such as introducing and reading books, storytelling that naturally arises from books, book reading meetings, book gatherings, discussions about books and book reviews, creative activities centered on stories and book characters, and such book-oriented programs became
The Director General of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents of Bushehr province stated that our vision at the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents is that children and adolescents love books and find reading a sweet and attractive experience, adding: for this reason, we tried to connect books with art, drama, games, entertainment, creativity and group experiences so that children can establish better and more communication with books and this relationship becomes deeper and more lasting. The report of the summer activities of the provincial centers also shows the extent of book-oriented events during the summer period.
Rasouli emphasized: One of our approaches at the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents in Bushehr province is to transform reading from a purely individual activity limited to reading book pages into a practical, creative and skill-oriented experience.
He continued: In this regard, during the summer season, my colleagues in different centers designed and implemented plans and events in which books and daily life skills were placed next to each other. For example, in cooking and book reading events, they focused on group reading of books, such as books called "Soup Day" written by Melissa Ivai or "Dal Ades Day" written by Ayesha Saidia, "Noodle Day" written by Lizo Gilmore, etc. are available in the intellectual development center libraries, and this book became an excuse for conversation, group work experience and learning a practical skill.
The Director General of the Intellectual Development Center for Children and Adolescents of Bushehr Province stated: One of the activities we performed in the field of book reading and character introduction was the provincial book reading contest about the character and struggles of Rais Ali Delwari based on "The Book of Livestock for a Hunter" by Mehdi Mirkaiai, which is being held in cooperation with the General Departments of Education, Public Libraries and Cultural Heritage of the province and will continue until October 26.
Pointing out that we all know that Rais Ali Delwari is an important part of the historical and cultural identity of Bushehr province and southern Iran, and it was important for us not to introduce this character to today's generation in the form of a special program, he clarified: for this reason, we designed a book reading competition centered on the martyr Rais Ali Delwari, so that teenagers, while reading a book, get to know the character, a part of the history and geography of their land, and think and discuss about it. I must mention that this competition is aimed at teenagers.
Rasouli then stated that the question may arise as to why books are so important for us in the center of intellectual education. He said: In my opinion, books are one of the most lasting tools of education in the field of children and adolescents. The book gives the child the opportunity to imagine, ask questions, think, gain new experiences, and see and learn the world not from his own point of view alone, but from different angles, and on the other hand, the book can link and connect many other activities of the center. A book can be the subject of a play or the idea of a painting or the start of a new story or the beginning of a scientific activity or even a group discussion. Therefore, the book is not the focus of a single and separate activity; Rather, it can be the starting point of an educational and cultural flow.
The Director General of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents of Bushehr province then pointed out the situation of borrowing books from the members of the center and emphasized: In the first six months of this year, more than 68 thousand books were loaned to the members in the cultural and artistic centers of the Center of Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents of Bushehr province. This statistic confirms that behind every book that is borrowed, there is a child or teenager who has spent part of his time reading books and has strived for knowledge, and this is commendable, especially when we think that this is happening from the side of a generation that mostly says that they are a generation that has been attracted to the digital world and is less likely to turn to books.
Pointing out that the reopening of schools in Mehr is a great opportunity to create a new beginning in the field of study, Rasouli added: "Books are only for free time from studying, but they are a good friend that should not leave the life of children and teenagers at the end of the summer and should be part of their daily and weekly schedule during the school year, which of course requires the interest of the child and the support of the families." Therefore, we tried to strengthen the connection between the center, school, family and books.
The Director of the Intellectual Development Center for Children and Adolescents of Bushehr Province, emphasizing that we ask families not to see the book only as an educational tool, said: A book can be a friend, a playmate, a friend, a storyteller, and a teacher for a child, and it can open a window to a new world full of light even in his loneliness. Sometimes it is enough for parents to sit next to their child for a few minutes, turn the pages of a book together, and with this small gesture, introduce the child to the importance of books and reading, and this simple companionship is the beginning of the valuable habit of reading.
Rasouli reminded: We at the intellectual development center for children and teenagers of Bushehr province, together with families, schools and other cultural institutions, are trying to provide an environment where every child and teenager of Bushehr has the opportunity to access books, read and experience the beautiful world of books.
