The memories of Ali Mahdavi, an IRGC intelligence officer, from the night of Sadegh Qutbzadeh's execution depict a dramatic scene: "He smoked a cigarette, prayed two rakats of prayer and was shot while reciting Surah Wal-Asr." Sadegh Qutbzadeh (1314-1361), one of the controversial figures at the beginning of the revolution, experienced a life full of ups and downs, which included exile and companionship with Imam Khomeini in Nofl Loshato, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and finally execution in Evin prison, all these strange events in the space of only four years!
According to the vivid memoirs of Ali Mahdavi, an intelligence officer, he describes a dramatic scene from the night of his execution: "Qutbzadeh smoked a cigarette, prayed two rakats and was shot while reciting Surah Wal-Asr." The text of this memoir is as follows:
Qutbzadeh was transferred to Evin.. Lajordi asked him to give a speech in front of the hypocrites... Qutbzadeh was a tall and tall man for himself.. He stood his ground, but he was satisfied to give a speech about the generalities of arrogance...
The hypocrites chanted Tawab
Jamaran Gulbaran
Qutbzadeh Tir Baran
Narration of the intelligence officer from the moment of Sadegh Qutbzadeh's execution
The concern of Mr. Rayshahri and his team was that if Qutbzadeh is not executed soon, his friends will put pressure on the court and release him, and he will also go abroad. That night, after his speech, they sent him to the wall.
Qutbzadeh didn't know that night was his last night, he thought we were playing and joking... He asked for a cigarette and smoked and said he wanted to pray two rakats of prayer... The executive team got a gun and stood in their place... One person recited Surah Wal-Asr with a beautiful recitation... They closed his eyes... Two or three other hypocrites were with him... They put Qutbzadeh in the middle... They read their order and ordered They set fire... This was the first execution I saw... Maybe I thought about that scene every now and then for a week... A person with the spirit of Qutbzadeh, with the financial and welfare facilities he had, with that bullying and pride, that stubbornness and claims, he went to the wall with one arrow and his work was finished...
The text of Qutbzadeh's short speech in Hosseinieh of Evin prison before his execution is as follows:
Dear brothers and sisters, for the purpose of this discussion and gathering, which I am presenting briefly and compactly, is the course of events that happened and I have been in that course and I have reached a series of conclusions. My trial is over and what I am saying is not for a specific reason, it is just what I said in the court and it is to clear your mind.
The event in which I participated was actually the overthrow of the government, the government of the Islamic Republic; I was against some people who I believed should not be in charge. In this regard, I cooperated with two axes: one was the military axis and the second axis was the clerical axis, which was Mr. Shariatmadari.
As I said, it was supposed to arrest the leaders and change the government and not the system. After the arrest and after learning that these individuals and the military group had relations with foreign countries - without my knowledge, with the Savakis and mainly the royalists and others that I did not know about - these two issues became clear to me: one is the mistake of not fully cooperating with some people that one does not know and did not investigate; Whether right or wrong. And one that basically, this way of dealing and changing the situation, which is done militarily and by force without the constitution, this action "as a person" is wrong, and if I had any objection, I should have declared it legally and gone ahead and accepted the consequences. But the fact that a person cooperates with someone whom he does not know is the result of what he sees. Some may say if you knew, would you go back? The answer is the same as the second point that I said, the work of "I think he is wrong" is wrong.
And as for why it is bad to get involved with someone you don't know; When one sees that they had relations with outsiders, for example with Ariana and possibly foreign politicians, one realizes that one has inadvertently entered into a story whose politics are in the hands of America and others. When we entered the work, there was no way to solve it. Then it is a shame that someone who gave his life for the Islamic Republic should stand next to those who are against the Islamic Republic and have connections with foreign countries.
Second, gratitude for the fact that this event did not succeed, even if a person lost his life in this work. Because the way the information came while I was in prison, it is certain for me that if we were to succeed, most of the work would be on my shoulders. Of course, the political part of it, but those who were willing to share their facts during the collaboration and say where and who they depend on; In short, they lied. They could no longer be trusted, and after this victory, some of them would be killed and destroyed, and they would not destroy us; Because we were the constituent elements and opposed to the Islamic Republic, we became the brokers of the region and our hands, God forbid, were stained with the blood of some people.
This issue is also an aspect of gratitude that I have thanked God that I was not the perpetrator of this crime and I was not the broker of a crime. This is a fact, but I have not been a broker following American policies and I had no affiliation and I had a series of religious beliefs; But in any case, it was pushed in that direction, whether I wanted it or not. Now, every wise and honorable person comes to the conclusion that thank God this process did not succeed and we did not end up in a foreign criminal hotchle, and it is a shame that we lost some energy and time of ourselves and our friends.
I said these words because I said it briefly in the court, I will say it widely to you friends and others who want to know. I have also said these words in the court without making a request or being a problem.
Narration of the intelligence officer from the moment of Sadegh Qutbzadeh's execution
I am grateful to Almighty God, I am really ashamed that I am in this situation and I hope that God will guide us all and that our end will be good. And it is important that the end of a person ends in good, as the end of a servant also ends in good; Of course, until this moment, why? Because I have not entered into a crime and an addiction. Now after this, may God have mercy on us and I want to honestly say that this was my opinion and it will be as God wills.
