"The West Wing" stays in Aaron Sorkin's mind.

The hit NBC series created by Sorkin ran from 1999 to 2006 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all time. When asked by Entertainment Weekly about its potential revival, Sorkin said, "I probably think about it for a few seconds every day."

Although he noted that "it's going to be very difficult in the current environment," he added that "it's going to be fun" and "I'm going to miss it." "The West Wing" stars Martin Sheen as President Josiah "Jed" Bartlett, Allison Janney as Press Secretary CJ Craig, Richard Schiff as Communications Director Tobey Ziegler, Rob Lowe as Deputy Communications Director Sam Seaborn, John Spencer as Chief of Staff Leo McGarry, Bradley Whitford as Vice President Josh Lichialid as Vice President. Sorkin told EW about what President Bartlett thinks about the current state of U.S. politics: "I want to take a moment to put words in Jed Bartlett's mouth. I'm just saying that I don't think his reaction is any different than most of our reactions to what's going on right now."

Sorkin isn't the only one open to a "West Wing" revival — Whitford and Hill told Variety last month that both would be on board if Sorkin decided to bring it back.

"I'll work him," Whitford said of Sorkin. "I think there might be a limited series of some kind."

Hill added, "I think if he wrote it, we'd all be there...hopefully moving the collective consciousness of our society toward humanity and connection and understanding would be a good thing."

Sorkin is currently doing press for his latest film, "The Social Reckoning," a sequel to 2010's "The Social Network" starring Jeremy Strong and Mark Zuckerberg.
