Nvidia and Apple have each pledged $25 million to build the ballroom desired by US President Donald Trump in the White House.
According to Ambassador Arjan, quoted by Reuters, the Washington Post newspaper wrote in a report that the total amount of private financial aid allocated to this project has reached 333 million dollars.
According to this report, the Adelson family, who are long-time supporters of Trump and his Republican Party, have also allocated $25 million to this project. Charles Ergen, an American billionaire and one of the founders and chairman of the board of directors of the Dish Network telecommunications company, has also pledged the same amount. Of course, the name of Donald Trump himself is not seen in the list of donors.
Ambassador Arjan has not independently confirmed this report. The White House also announced that it would not release information about donors. White House spokesman Davis Ingle said the donors represent a wide range of major and prominent American companies.
"As an American company, our support for the United States is a priority and is independent of any commercial interests," an Nvidia spokesperson said. Apple refused to comment on this matter.
The wide dimensions of the said hall construction project and the way of managing the collection of financial aid and the release of related information by the government have provoked the criticism of monitoring groups and legal experts. According to these critics, the project raises questions about transparency, donor influence and adherence to long-standing ethical and regulatory norms.
