Disney Inks Major Creator Deal with Dude Perfect (Exclusive)
The Texas-based sports creators and media company have signed a broad partnership spanning entertainment, sports, consumer products and experiences.
The Walt Disney Company is cutting deals with another major producer, this time with the blockbuster sports-focused film Dude Perfect, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The deal, which the company describes as an "enterprise-wide creative partnership," includes sports entertainment, consumer products and experiences.
Like other Disney producer deals, Dude Perfect content will come to Disney Plus, including some shows from the group's library. But it will also see the group create original content for its platforms and channels inspired by Disney events, with Super Bowl LXI, the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, and Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame among the highlighted projects.
Dude Perfect was founded in 2009 when Tyler Toney, Coby Cotton, Corey Cotton, Garrett Hilbert and Cody Jones, all students at Texas A&M, decided to start a YouTube channel. It has since grown into a full-fledged studio, with an 80,000-square-foot facility in Frisco, Texas, and a full suite of programming and brand deals.
Dude Perfect raised $100 million from Highmount Capital in 2024 to help it start growing, with Coby Cotton telling THR at the time that they wanted to push more into live events and products, two areas in which Disney happens to have particular expertise.
Meanwhile, Disney has signed deals with creators like Dhar Mann and Like Nastya as it looks to push further into the ecosystem. It also has a deal with TikTok that will bring some short-form content to Disney+.
Dude Perfect and Disney have worked together in the past, with the creators releasing videos like "Visit Every Disney Park in 75 Hours," but the new deal significantly builds on that relationship.
"Disney has always been a place where great storytellers come to create, and Dude Perfect brings a distinctive voice and innovative approach to everything they do," Asad Ayaz, Disney's chief marketing and brand officer, said in a statement. "By building on our long-standing relationship, we can offer fans even more ways to experience and be a part of the Disney stories they love."
"We've been Disney kids forever, from wearing VHS tapes of The Lion King to making original family memories at Disney World," added Garrett Hilbert, co-founder of Dude Perfect. Disney taught us to grow up and dream big, and that has shaped everything we've created. Now, we can live even more of these dreams with the Disney team, and we can't wait to bring our fans along for the ride.
