Vehicle Registration for Iranians Residing Abroad Suspended

Customs has suspended vehicle registration for Iranians living abroad until a final valuation is set in the TSC system and approved by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

The customs stopped the numbering of the cars of Iranians living abroad until the definitive value is determined in the TSC system and the authenticity is confirmed.

According to Ambassador Arjan, the customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced in a new circular the details of how to value and clear cars belonging to Iranians living abroad.

According to the provisions of this announcement, which was issued following the previous instructions and in coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, the issue of valuation of these cars has been placed on the agenda and priority of the meetings of the valuation working group (subject of Note 6 of the Vehicle Law). According to the Ministry of Security, the process of determining the value of these cars will be finalized within the next month.

In this circular, it is emphasized that executive customs offices should refrain from sending information on customs declarations for numbering until the value of the cars is determined and finalized by the said working group and the ID is created in the Value Information Bank (TSC).

Also, the collection of import duties, value added tax and other related duties should be done based on the issued IDs and after determining the value by the relevant working group.
