The producer of "Man and my child" program of Tehran Radio stated that the purpose of this competition is to strengthen the mutual understanding of different generations in the family.

Sanaz Bagheri, the producer of "Man and my child" of Tehran Radio, told Mehr reporter about this program, which has a competitive atmosphere: Our goal in this program is not to make families heroes, but we want to strengthen the mutual understanding of generations by narrating real experiences. Cultural and technological changes have made the relationship between generations more difficult. Combining quiz, radio show and psychological analysis, "My Child and Me" transforms families from listeners of one-way advice to the main actors of the conversation.

He added: This program is a bridge to cross the generation gap caused by technological developments and values. Audio media can be an intimate platform for honest and close conversations between generations.

Bagheri identified the two-way interaction as the distinguishing feature of the program and added: In this program, families participate in designed challenges, take part in radio shows and narrate their experiences in this way. In the design of the sections, we have taken advantage of the views of experts in family psychology, social work, and sociology, and the presence of a psychologist as a permanent judge strengthens the program's specialized approach.

He explained about other details of the program: The audience of the program is parents between 35 and 60 years old and children between 8 and 20 years old. Grandfathers, grandmothers and other family members can also join the narratives. In this program, family issues are presented in a respectful framework through radio shows, hypothetical stories and the "If I Were" segment. The goal is not to judge or expose, but to solve the problem and strengthen the relationship. Keeping the psychological safety and privacy of the participants, honesty, indirect education and entertainment are the priorities of the program.

Referring to the reception of the "Father's and Mother's Messages" section, Bagheri said: sincere gratitude of family members to each other creates effective moments. This section has received good feedback from the audience and they send us their messages.

Regarding the selection of participants, he said: Families communicate with the program through phone calls, social networks, and the Tehran Radio website. After the initial conversation, families are selected whose experiences are informative for others and help the audience to see common issues in their lives in the narrative of others.

In the end, Bagheri explained about the future ideas of the program: special episodes with the presence of grandparents along with the next generations, performing the program with families, producing thematic podcasts and creating a listeners' club with in-person events are some of our ideas in the future.

This program is broadcast on Fridays at 10 am on Radio Tehran.
