The head of the Council of Livestock Suppliers announced a 30% increase in the supply of livestock and red meat compared to last year.
Mansour Pourian announced a 30% increase in the supply of livestock and red meat compared to the same period last year and said: Although two weeks have passed since the autumn season, the increase in the supply of livestock indicates the improvement of domestic production.
The new price of red meat was announced; Will the meat of these animals replace imported meat?
He pointed to the reports about the birth of livestock in the southwest of the country and added: the phenomenon of multiple births in this region shows that the process of livestock birth is accompanied by favorable conditions.
Pourian announced the price per kilogram of fattening cattle between 680 and 720 thousand tomans, lamb between 490 and 550 thousand tomans and calf weighing 400 and 450 kilograms between 670 and 710 thousand tomans. Also, according to him, the price of each kilogram of cattle is between 500 and 550 thousand tomans and buffalo is between 550 and 600 thousand tomans.
The head of the Council of Livestock Suppliers emphasized that the diversity in supply has led to competitive prices and stated: We are currently witnessing an increase in the fattening rate of light livestock compared to last year, which can ultimately lead to an increase in the population of meat livestock.
Referring to the relative stability of prices in the production sector, he said: In the current situation, psychological issues of the market are more influential on price fluctuations and market instability than factors related to production.
Pourian announced that the country's light livestock population is about 68 million and added: There are also about 5.5 million heavy livestock and 1.5 million native calves and cows in the country.
Referring to the capacity of buffalo production in the country, he stated: the development of this sector can have a positive effect on providing the protein needed by households.
The head of the Council of Livestock Suppliers said about the effect of imports on market regulation: Although no noticeable change in the consumption trend has been observed in high-consumption centers, there is a restriction of consumption in the household sector. However, importing meat in current conditions and due to exchange rate fluctuations is less economical and can affect the competitive environment of the market.
Pourian expressed optimism about the country's red meat production capacity and added: It is expected that the production amount will reach favorable figures in the second half of the year.
He announced the country's monthly need for red meat between 58,000 and 60,000 tons and said: If the monthly production reaches about 50,000 tons, it will be possible to provide the basis for bringing the supply closer to the demand and establishing stability in the market. However, on special occasions, the country's need for red meat increases to about 70,000 tons.
