Simultaneously with the beginning of National Children's Week, Tehran Municipality has taken new operational steps to realize a "child-friendly city" by implementing special plans. Meanwhile, the experience of urban management by children in 22 regions and the implementation of inclusive programs for children with disabilities are among the main axes of these programs.

According to Ambassador Arjan, Mehdi Amiri, Director General of Citizenship Education of Tehran Municipality, in Ambassador Arjan TV's Parkway program, pointing out that Tehran Municipality, as the secretariat of the "Child-Friendly City Resolution", has prepared various programs for this week, said: "One of our most important programs in National Children's Week is to provide a space for children to experience urban management. In this regard, today in the court of the Islamic Council of Tehran, children were placed in symbolic positions; From the recitation of the Quran by children at the beginning of the meeting to the recitation of the Shahnameh by the group of teenagers who presented their demands in the form of poetry to the council members.

Hourly management experience in 22 regions

Stating that this experience is not only limited to the city council, the director general of citizenship education added: "In the 22 districts of Tehran municipality, children come to office environments to experience the way the city is run closely with the city managers. This "hourly management" is designed with the aim of familiarizing children with the structure of urban management and creating a positive memory of social participation.

"Childhood Passage"; A space for playing and learning skills

Amiri also mentioned the "Children's Pass" project and said: "In all 22 regions, special passes for children and teenagers have been activated, which provide the possibility of using recreational, sports, artistic and educational services for families and their children. These programs will continue in many areas in different time frames until Wednesday.

He advised the citizens to contact the municipality of their place of residence and inquire about the details, time and exact location of these "passes" in their neighborhood, because the programs of each region are different due to the variety and high volume of programs.

justice in education; Special attention to children with disabilities

One of the highlights of the speech of the director general of citizenship education was attention to special groups. Amiri said: "We have considered the "childhood seal" plan for children with disabilities, children in hospitals and even children in care centers. In this plan, instead of waiting for the presence of children, happy and doll caravans go to them to create a happy and entertaining atmosphere in environments such as hospitals or rehabilitation centers. Our effort is to ensure justice in access to municipal services for all children, regardless of their physical condition.

In the end, he emphasized: turning Tehran into a "child-friendly city" is a process that requires the support and cooperation of all organizations, both inside and outside the Tehran municipality complex, in order to provide a favorable environment for the growth and development of children.
