China Invites Russian Knights to Perform at Zhuhai Airshow
Wuzhou Mayor Stresses That Expanding International Cooperation Is the "Main Direction for the Development of the China Airshow"
Beijing, October 13. /TASS/. China has invited the Russian Knights aerobatic team to the 16th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, known as the China Air Show, in Zhuhai in the southern province of Guangdong, said Wu Zetong, the city's mayor.
"The Russian Knights aerobatic team will perform again at the upcoming air show. The team is well-known to the audience, as it has participated in Airshow China seven times since 1998. Its fascinating performances have made a deep impression on the public and aroused widespread affection," he said at a news conference in response to a question from TASS.
Wu emphasized that the expansion of international cooperation "is the main direction of the development of China Airshow." He said the flying displays would be "even more spectacular" with pilots from the United Arab Emirates joining the Russian knights. He added: For the first time since 2016, two foreign military aerobatic teams will participate in the China Air Show together.
The Bayi Acrobatic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force will also perform "aerial ballet" alongside them, the mayor said.
China's largest aviation and aerospace exhibition is held in the coastal city of Zhuhai and attracts hundreds of companies from several countries. Russian defense companies regularly participate in it. The exhibition focuses on military and civilian aircraft, space, navigation and radar equipment, aircraft weapons, missile engines, fire control and air defense systems. The 16th Ann Stein edition will be held from December 7 to 13.
