Three-Percent Road Maintenance Budget Challenge in Markazi Province
Arak – The Deputy Governor for Development Affairs of Markazi Province criticized the inadequacy of the three-percent road maintenance budgets and stressed the need to move from ceremonial conferences to executive action with the help of knowledge-based companies.
Arak- The deputy of civil affairs of the Central Governor, criticizing the insufficiency of three percent road maintenance credits, emphasized the need to move from formal meetings to executive actions with the help of knowledge-based companies.
According to Mehr reporter, before noon on Wednesday at the first specialized conference on bitumen, asphalt and machinery in the central region of the country, referring to the unsurpassed position of the central province in the field of the country's industry, the power of Elah Abak stated that the establishment of large industries such as machine building, HEPCO, Azarab and oil refinery has doubled the importance of this province.
Referring to the vital role of the oil refinery in supplying fuel to the capital, Abak reminded: this refinery supplies Tehran with 18 million liters of gasoline daily, and despite the round-the-clock efforts to transport fuel by tankers from neighboring provinces, there was no interruption in fuel supply to Tehran even for an hour, with the efforts of the Central Province Road Administration.
Referring to credit challenges in road infrastructure maintenance, he said: the actual costs of road restoration and maintenance are not in line with the current budgets, and with the small share of three percent of credits, maintaining road safety, keeping axles open and managing snow removal operations in the winter season is facing many difficulties.
The deputy of the civil affairs coordination of the Central Governor emphasized the necessity of making specialized events and conferences practical and stated: the meetings should not end only with the conclusion of formal memorandums between scientific, industrial and research centers, but practical solutions to reduce the costs of road maintenance at the level of roads should be objectified by using new technologies and the capacity of knowledge-based companies and academic efforts, so that this national capital is preserved for future generations.
The necessity of revising the safety protocols of hazardous substances on the road
Referring to the movement of special and industrial materials in the transportation axes of the central province, Abak said: despite the existence of current protocols, sometimes we encounter accidents and the movement of tankers on the roads, the extinguishing and control of which requires teams and special specialized instructions, therefore, the relevant organizations should review and strengthen the instructions for crisis management and road accidents for dangerous materials (outside of ordinary petroleum products).
