Kazemi: Textbook Shortages in Schools Stem from Student Transfers

The Minister of Education said textbook shortages in schools are due to student transfers.

According to Mehr reporter, Alireza Kazemi, Minister of Education and Culture, while referring to the spontaneous movement of Turkish cyclists' convoy towards Iran, said: The members of this convoy have cycled more than 1,500 kilometers and are also on their way to Minab from Iran. This spontaneous action of the people is a message of peace, friendship, love and sympathy with the people of Iran and can convey a reflection of the crimes that happened to the world community.

He stated that the people of Turkey have always stood by the Iranian people and supported the Palestinian people, adding: This is the third convoy that is going from Türkiye to Minab. Earlier, a media convoy with wide international coverage and a convoy of donors had traveled to Iran.

The Minister of Education continued: Turkish benefactors are participating in the construction of a school in Minab under the name of the Turkish Kowsar Charity Foundation, and the new caravan shows its solidarity with the people of Iran by using the capacity of sports.

Referring to the paintings of Turkish students, Kazemi said: More than 3,000 Turkish students have prepared more than 2,000 paintings for the people of Iran and the students of Minab, which the members of this caravan bring with them.

He added: recording and reflecting the presence of people in the city squares, the hospitality and standing of the Iranian people are among the other goals of this trip. This convoy can convey an image of the crimes of America and Israel to the world community.

The lack of textbooks in schools is caused by the transfer of students

In response to a question about reports of not receiving textbooks from some students, the Minister of Education said: Students who have not yet received their books are not necessarily facing problems in the process of providing books; Rather, in some cases, the registration or ordering of their books has been delayed for various reasons.

Referring to the population of about 16.5 million students in the country, he explained: Students moving from one city to another, changing the place of study and choosing a field later than the scheduled time, are among the factors that may cause a delay in the delivery of textbooks.

Kazemi continued: For example, a student who previously placed an order in another city and then moved to a new city, must go through the relevant steps to receive the book in the new location. For this reason, some students may receive their books late.

He emphasized: There is no problem of learning in the field of providing and distributing textbooks, and the issues raised are very limited. According to the Minister of Education, the delays in most cases are related to the relocation of families, transfer of students between cities or change of field.

The narrative of sacrifice and resistance in textbooks and cultural activities

In another part of his speech, the Minister of Education pointed out the necessity of using educational and cultural capacities to promote the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom and stated: We must use all available capacities to explain the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom; Because this culture is one of the outstanding characteristics of the Iranian people and their resistance against the domineering powers is an important capacity to transfer these concepts to the future generation.

He added: One of these capacities is textbooks, through which the story of standing, resistance and oppression of the people can be conveyed to the students and the story of the war can be reflected in the educational content.

Referring to the role of extra-curricular activities in this context, Kazemi said: Cultural and artistic activities are another capacity to keep alive the memory and name of the martyr. In this field, there are many disciplines, including storytelling, poetry, fiction, film, theater, and holding martyrs' memorials, which can be used.

He emphasized: Education tries to use all these capacities to keep alive the memory and names of the martyrs and transfer the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom to the students.
