Kremlin Says Europe Remains Russia's Main Oil Buyer Despite Rhetoric

Dmitry Peskov noted that the issue of “European pessimism” has been widely discussed in global media.

Moscow, October 13. /TASS/. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that European countries are still the main buyers of Russian crude oil and oil products.

"The issue of 'European pessimism' - as [US Treasury Secretary Scott] Bessant pointed out - has been widely discussed in the world media. The fact is that European countries, like all other countries, are heavy buyers of Russian oil and Russian oil products," Peskov told TASS.

He made this statement in response to a question about whether the Kremlin sees the risk of disrupting the Moscow-Washington fuel deal through new sanctions or other European trade barriers.
