In Praise of 'Opening Space'

The Rowzaneh-Gosha current rejects the false focus of civil society on advancing a transition away from the current political system. That focus has never yielded anything but depriving civil society of an influential role and of the chance to open space, and it reduces the nation's political horizon to a goal out of reach.

Ambassador Arjan; Mohammad Irfan Khani - In a situation where the radical subversionist front insistently wishes for the overthrow of the government even at the cost of war and destruction, regardless of interactionist, low-cost, and political risk-free solutions, the effective participation of interactionist and loophole-opening political forces in the government is a sentence of doom against the overthrowers.

The interactionist force that always emphasizes the need for active political participation in the framework of governance and tries to play a role as a part of the solution in society and governance and does not allow the society to be dragged into the destructive and costly danger of overthrowing is the main obstacle to the advancement of the opposition's political project, and the root of the opposition front's anger and effort against the interactionist and opening approach lies in this fact.

Insinuating that the desire for overthrow, even though it is a costly and violent way, is the only way to pass from the existing state of death to the desired state, and other than this, there is no way forward for Iranian society, and it is not even possible to open an opening for interaction and dialogue between civil institutions and the political government, forming the first step of the political project of the opposition.

But when the opposition decides to take the first step successfully, it faces a strong barrier of open-minded and interactionist forces.

A trend that prevents civil society from neglecting the capacities opened up between the society and the government and emphasizes on the maximum use of these capacities for the benefit of progressive goals and avoiding costly and fruitless revolutionism.

The lack of kindness and unpleasant behavior of the political system does not lead the openers to seek overthrow far from expediency, and in their belief, political interests should not be sacrificed for settling political accounts.

An open-door operator takes advantage of every opening in favor of effective presence and participation in the political system, and does not hand over political power to totalitarians under the pretext of the political system's resistance to reforming the governance process, and does not spend his political life waiting endlessly for the fall of the government and the creation of an ideal and dreamy political system, but far from reach and beyond the possibility.

The opening process prevents the false focus of the civil society on the advancement of the transition project from the current political system, which has had and does not have the result of denying the opportunity to play an effective role and opening the opening of the civil society, and it prevents the reduction of the nation's political horizon to a distant goal.

Of course, even if the opposition succeeds in overthrowing the political system, there is no clear evidence of ensuring democracy and development and a brighter tomorrow under the shadow of the upcoming political system.
