Tehran prosecutor announced the issuance of moharebeh indictment for two of the leaders of the gang of serial and armed robberies from houses in Tehran and some cities. After the arrest of the thieves and the end of the judicial investigation, this case has been sent to the special branches of the Islamic Revolution Court for immediate and out-of-hours processing.
Ambassador of Arjan-Incidents Group: Ali Salehi, Tehran prosecutor, announced the issuance of indictments for two defendants in the case of serial and armed robberies from homes in Tehran and some cities and announced that the cases of these people have been sent to the special branches of the Islamic Revolution Court for out-of-hours processing.
According to Salehi, these defendants are people related to a gang known as "gangsters" who, by committing violent robberies from houses, in addition to causing damage to the victims, caused public panic.
The prosecutor of Tehran announced that the judicial investigation of these two defendants has been completed after their identification and arrest, and an indictment has been issued accusing them of war by drawing weapons on the residents of houses and also participating in the robbery of houses in one of the southern cities of the country.
According to the explanations of the Tehran prosecutor, the case of armed robberies from citizens' homes in Tehran and a number of cities was filed in the Tehran prosecutor's office after the arrest of four of the accused in the summer of 1404.
This case led to the issuance of a verdict after judicial proceedings, and the verdict issued against those four defendants was implemented in October 1404 after the approval of the Supreme Court.
Pointing to the judicial system's measures to legally deal with armed robbers and professional criminals, Salehi said that the handling of the case of the new defendants has also entered the judicial stage after their identification and arrest and the completion of the investigation.
According to the announcement of the Tehran prosecutor, the charge of moharebeh has been raised in the indictment of two defendants; However, the issuance of an indictment does not mean the issuance of a final sentence, and the final decision on the charges against these people will be the responsibility of the court.
According to the Islamic Penal Code, the punishment of moharebeh is one of the four punishments prescribed by the law, which includes execution. Therefore, the mere filing of charges of moharebeh does not mean that the death sentence is certain for the accused, and the result of the judicial proceedings and the court's decision will be decisive.
The case of these two defendants has been sent to the special branches of the Islamic Revolution Court for immediate consideration.
