This house is designed with an area of about 793 square feet, equivalent to 74 square meters. Matti Soronen, a Finnish architect, was the designer of Futuro houses; Prefabricated structures were built with the aim of easy portability, and even their transportation by helicopter was considered. It is estimated that there are only about 50 examples of these houses left in the world.

Saving from destruction and moving to the mountainous area

After years of neglect in San Diego, this house was slated for demolition. Milford Wayne Donaldson, an architect specializing in historic preservation, saved it.

In 2004, the house was moved with a flatbed truck to the mountain area of the current location. Then its interior space was renovated inspired by the original design of the 1960s to preserve the original features of this structure.
