Safeguarding the country's independence and territorial integrity depends on the people taking the lead
MASHHAD – The Supreme Leader's representative in Razavi Khorasan, stressing the decisive role of public presence in safeguarding the country's independence and territorial integrity, said that the people's continuous presence on the field has affected the enemy's calculations.
According to the Mehr reporter, Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Alamulhadi on Monday evening at the 226th street meeting of the revolutionary and visionary people of Abu Talib neighborhood of Mashhad, which is held according to the weekly routine, appreciated the presence of the people in the night gatherings, emphasized the role of the Iranian nation in preserving the independence and territorial integrity of the country, and considered the presence of the people in the square, especially with religious motivation and under the leadership of the clergy, to be the cause of victory against the enemies.
The representative of Wali Faqih in Khorasan Razavi added: I thank you for your precious community of revolutionary brothers and sisters in the path of supporting Islam and this revolution. A revolution that guarantees the spread of the Qur'an and the religion of God throughout the world and lays the foundation for the emergence of the holy existence of Imam Zaman (A.S.).
He added: I hope that these valuable efforts of our brothers and sisters will be noticed by our lord and master, Hazrat Baqiyallah al-Azam (AS) and that he will be pleased and satisfied with your efforts.
Referring to the role of the Iranian people throughout history in maintaining the country's territorial integrity and independence, Alam Al-Hadi said: Whenever the effort to secure the country's independence and territorial integrity is entrusted to the people, victory has been achieved against the enemy's invasion and the attackers have been defeated; However, at times when the people have been left out of the field of struggle and support for the country and affairs have been left solely to government facilities, large parts of Iran's land have been lost and the enemies have succeeded in encroaching on the country.
Referring to the disgraceful contract of Turkmanchai and handing over parts of Iran's land to Tsarist Russia, the representative of Wali Faqih in Khorasan, Razavi stated: This happened in a situation where people had come to the field with all their strength and sense of responsibility, but they were left out of the arena of decision-making and command. On the other hand, when the British wanted to dominate the southern regions of the country, the people entered the field independently and faced the enemy with a heavy defeat.
Referring to the attack of Tsarist Russia on the northern regions of Iran, he said: At that point, the government forces entered the field of struggle with their military facilities; However, the zealous and brave people of Azerbaijan did not sit still in the face of the enemy's attack and rushed to the aid of the Iranian forces. As long as the people were present in the field and confronted the enemy, the invaders were pushed back and could not dominate the land of Iran.
Alam Al-Hadi continued: After that, the conspiracies, espionage and deceitful actions of the unclean British caused the central government to be in a state of fear and crisis, which did not have the power to make effective decisions against Tsarist Russia. In order for the British to be able to dominate the south of Iran and, if they dominate this region, to take over the entire Persian Gulf, they first implemented their plan in the north of the country so that if they advance to the south, they would not face the competition of the Russians and the Iranian government would surrender to them due to the experience of the war with Russia.
Referring to the republishing of some content on the cyberspace about the Turkmanchai contract, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Khorasan, Razavi, stated: Recently, an article was published that if Iran had not signed the Turkmanchai contract with the Russians that day, they would have advanced to Qazvin and captured this city as well. While this claim was the same justification that the British used to scare Fath Ali Shah.
He added: The British suggested to Fath Ali Shah that if he surrenders to the Russians and cedes a part of Iran's territory, the war will stop and the enemy's advance will be prevented. Otherwise, the Russians will advance to Qazvin and capture it as well. These threats caused Fath Ali Shah's calculations to change and to refrain from sending cartridges to the war front when Kamran Mirza was in charge of the Iranian forces in the war with the Russians.
Alam Elhadi noted: People had come to the aid of the Iranian forces and were standing against the Russians with strength, but the ammunition did not reach them. This happened after the British conspiracy and the action of their spies in the Iranian arsenal to prevent the sending of cartridges to the northern front, and finally, the Iranian forces were forced to surrender and a major part of the country's territory was handed over to Russia.
Razavi, the representative of the religious jurist in Khorasan, stated that the disgraceful contract of Turkmanchai was the result of such conditions and stated: This happened while the people had come to the field to defend the country and the clergy also played a role in this direction. Among them is the late Allameh Mujahid Seyyed Mohammad Mujahid, the authority of Shiite imitation in Najaf, who entered the field to mobilize popular forces and help the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
He continued: The late Seyyed Mohammad Mujahid came to Qazvin, prepared a large army and moved towards Azerbaijan to help the Iranian forces. His imitators also came to the field and prepared for Jihad; But in a situation where the command of the war was in the hands of the government agents and the people did not play a role in the main decisions, the enemy's conspiracy prevented the people's capacity from reaching its full potential and an important part of Iran's land was lost.
The resistance of the people and the clergy against British colonialism
Referring to the attempt of the British to dominate the southern regions of Iran and the coast of the Persian Gulf, Alam Elhadi said: The British had designed this plan so that they could enter from the south and take over the coastal areas of the country. But when they came to the south of Iran, the people did not allow the government agents to take command of the struggle.
Referring to the mujahid of Rais Ali Delwari in Khorasan, Razavi said: May God have mercy on Rais Ali Delwari, this zealous man and mujahid soldier of the homeland, who rose up with the guidance of one of the scholars of Bushehr and one of the mujahid clerics of that region, and people gathered around him.
He added: People stood empty-handed against the British; While the enemy had naval war equipment and the popular forces did not have similar facilities and equipment. Nevertheless, they resisted manfully with the same limited resources and did not allow the British soldiers to get off the ship and set foot on Iranian soil.
Alam Al-Hadi stated: The people stood up in this struggle, defeated the British and saved the country. Because in this movement, the leadership was with the clergy, and the field management and implementation of the struggle was also done with the people and based on their strength and will, not with the command of government agents.
Referring to the defeat of the British at this historical moment, the representative of the religious jurist in Khorasan, Razavi, said: "The British, despite all their mischief and capabilities, were defeated by the people's resistance and returned in disgrace."
Emphasizing the history of the Iranian nation in confronting the enemies, he said: The history of Iranian men and women in fighting against the enemy has been like this. The people of Iran have not surrendered to any enemy. Wherever the field is in the hands of the people and they have taken the main role, victory has been achieved; Especially in a situation where the main motivation of the people was their religion and movement within the framework of the leadership of the clergy.
