210,000 Tons of Tomatoes Harvested in Kowsar

Ardabil – The Director of Jihad-e Agriculture in Kowsar County said 210,000 tons of tomatoes are harvested annually from the county's farmland, and Kowsar ranks first in Ardabil Province in terms of production and cultivated area.

Ardabil - Director of Agricultural Jihad of Kauthar city said: 210 thousand tons of tomatoes are harvested from the lands of this city every year, and Kauthar ranks first in Ardabil province in terms of production and cultivated area.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Abbas Atefi, he said: In Kausar city, two thousand and 100 hectares of land have been cultivated with tomatoes, and the average yield per hectare is between 80 and 100 tons.

Referring to the position of this city in tomato production, he added: 210,000 tons of tomatoes are harvested from the lands of this city every year, and Kausar ranks first in Ardabil province in terms of production and cultivated area.

Referring to the existing problems, the Director of Jihad Agriculture in Kausar city continued: Despite this high production capacity, the abundance of products and the lack of proper management in the market have caused problems for farmers, and it is necessary to think of necessary measures to organize the market and prevent the losses of farmers.

Atefi reminded: The development of tomato transformation and processing industries in Kausar city can play an important role in reducing market problems, creating added value and increasing farmers' income, and this issue should be prioritized in the city's development plans.
