White House Laughs Off Jimmy Kimmel’s “Trapped” Comment After Crude Personal Jab at New Press Secretary

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel used back-to-back monologues this week to offer a series of personal insults to newly appointed White House press secretary Kitty Zacharias, drawing backlash from the White House.

During Tuesday's episode of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", after Zacharias' first White House press briefing, the comedian called her "Malibu Katy" and mocked her intelligence.

"I'd like to introduce you to the new kid in Trump-land. It was the first day of kindergarten for new White House press secretary Kathy Zacharias," Kimmel said.

Kimmel also suggested that Zacharias be appointed to keep President Donald Trump "awake and interested," saying that "every six months they bring in a new blonde fawn doll to add to the rotation."

"Today didn't get off to a great start for Malibu Katie," he continued. "His first briefing was short. It only lasted 14 minutes. But even in that short time, he did exactly what he was brought in to do, which was a whole tube of lip gloss all over the president's back," he said.

"Jimmy Kimmel is a talentless loser who has masked himself by tanking ratings and by spreading despicable lies to his shrinking audience," White House press secretary Davis Ingle said. He is so lacking in real talent that no one in their right mind would ever watch him, unless it was to laugh at his abject failures.

After Trump targeted the first lady, the White House asked sitcom producer Chuck Lorre to get "psychiatric help."

Tuesday was Kimmel's second night in a row mocking Zakaria. On Monday, ahead of his first briefing, the host posted a selfie of Zacharias in a training suit, joking about his intelligence.

"This is the new press secretary, former Newsmax commentator Katie Zacharias, seen here thinking," Kimmel said. He added that her qualifications for the role are having "blonde hair" and the ability to "thumbs up".

Zacharias held his first official press conference at the White House on Tuesday, days after Trump's nomination was announced on Friday. He previously served as senior communications advisor at the Trump Media and Technology Group, which operates the Truth Social platform.
