I'tikaf and Camps: Two Distinct Arenas for Raising Teenagers
Qazvin – The head of Qazvin Province's Teen Headquarters said that educational programs for teenagers should be designed around specific goals aligned with their spiritual, social, and responsibility-development needs.
In an interview with Mehr reporter, Milad Jabari emphasized the need to review the educational patterns of teenagers, considered itikaf and army as two different forms with independent educational logic and emphasized the need for purposeful design of educational fields in accordance with monotheistic principles and the horizon of civilization.
He stated: To design effective training programs, first of all, we must pay attention to the basics, goals and logic of training. The main issue is not simply choosing an execution format or increasing the number of programs; Rather, we should know what role each program plays in the path of adolescent development and how to establish a link between the beliefs, lived experience and activism of the adolescent.
Jabari added: I'tikaf is not Urdu, and Urdu is not a substitute for I'tikaf. Each of them has its own nature, requirements and functions. Itikaf is an opportunity to deepen the relationship with God, review the personal and spiritual sphere, and experience the life of a believer; While camp can be a platform for collective experience, responsibility, strengthening skills and practicing role-playing in different situations.
The manager of Qazvin province's youth camp stated that knowing the differences between these two formats is a condition for the correct design of educational programs, and clarified: monotheistic education is not limited to the transfer of concepts; Rather, the teenager should have the opportunity to experience knowledge and values in his life and know the relationship between his beliefs, choices and responsibilities.
He continued: "Moving from the basics to the field means providing a path in which knowledge becomes insight, insight becomes choice, and choice becomes responsible action." In this view, the teenager is not only the audience of cultural programs, but must gradually prepare for a conscious and effective presence in the field of social life.
The necessity of designing targeted educational fields
Referring to the educational horizon of the second step statement of the revolution, Jabari said: the teenagers and young generation are not only the audience of the future, but they have the main capacities to build the future of the society. Therefore, educational models should provide them with the context of identity development, strengthening of will, responsibility and problem solving power.
He pointed out that this goal cannot be achieved with fragmented and sectional programs, but requires the design of targeted educational fields so that the adolescent can reach the stage of choice, action and role-playing from the stage of receiving and learning.
The director of the youth center of Qazvin province considered the "Bazm Andishe" meeting as an opportunity to review educational experiences and gain new ideas, and added: "We need to know more precisely the relationship between educational goals and implementation formats through expert discussion and answer the question of how each program can fit into the adolescent education system while maintaining its identity and specific function."
Jabari emphasized: The purpose of education is not only the presence of teenagers in the programs, but it is to raise a generation that is faithful, knowledgeable, responsible and able to play a role in the progress of the society and the realization of the new Islamic civilization. Achieving this goal requires a detailed understanding of the basics of education, appropriate design of growth fields, and a continuous link between thought and action.
It should be mentioned that the first analytical and ideation session of "Bazm Andisheh" was held with the theme "Teenage Retreat or Camp?" This is the problem!" It will be held on Wednesday, October 22 at 15:45 with the presence of Hojjatul-Islam Yaser Mahiri as a guest and hosted by Hojjatul-Islam Hassan Shahsawari in the meeting hall of the General Directorate of Islamic Propaganda of Qazvin province.
