Weaver said she appreciates the opportunity to play the character every night.
"This cast and crew are truly very special, and I feel honored to continue this journey with them," he said. Stepping into Roxy's shoes and discovering new things about her character every night has been such a blessing and has fueled my love for performing in ways I've always loved. To go on stage every night and share this story with a live audience is something I will never do. Obviously my heart is very full and I am so grateful for this opportunity and two more weeks with this incredible company. What a gift this has been!”
Additionally, Weaver will appear alongside Ariana Maddix, Whitney Leavitt, Alex Newell and Robin Herder at Chicago's 30th Anniversary Gala on Nov. 16, which will benefit the Dancers' Service Society's Entertainment Fund programs.
Weaver is a professional dancer and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, best known for her appearance on America's Sweetheart: Dallas Cowboys. Chicago is now the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. The 1920s story shares the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who kills her lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, he tricks the public, the media, and his rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's sharpest criminal lawyer to turn his heinous crime into a barrage of loud headlines that could just as easily be ripped from today's newspapers. Book by Fred Ab and Bob Fosse with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ab. The current cast also includes Lisa DeGuzman as Velma Kelly, Max Von Essen as Billy Flynn, Natasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, Red Concepcion as Amos Hart and Jay Workman as Mary Sunshine.
