Armed Fugitive Killer Arrested After 15 Years

Kerman Province's Chief of Criminal Investigations announced the arrest of an armed fugitive murder suspect who had been wanted since 2010 for a killing in Kahnooj County. He had lived in hiding under fake identities for 15 years.

According to Ambassador Arjan, Colonel Hamidreza Mirrahbibi told reporters on Wednesday afternoon: Following the occurrence of an armed murder in 2009 in Kohnouj city with the motive of a dispute, the case was specially placed on the agenda of the detectives of the Department of Combating Criminal Crimes of the Provincial Police.

He added: Intelligence police detectives, by carrying out intelligence, specialized measures and continuous follow-up, finally managed to identify the hiding place and the real identity of this fugitive killer who was traveling and living in the southern regions of the province with fake identities.

This police officer stated: Finally, the accused was identified and arrested in a surprise operation with the help of the intelligence elites while driving through the checkpoint.

Referring to the explicit confession of the accused to armed murder in specialized interrogations, the head of the intelligence police of Kerman province pointed out that the accused was handed over to the judicial authority after filing a preliminary case for legal proceedings.
