Sony has unveiled the PS5 digital console in Midnight Black color, which will only be available in Japan. This model will be available to Japanese buyers on November 19, 2026 (November 28, 1405) at a price of 55,000 yen. Also, a Midnight Black disc drive with a similar design and price of 11,980 yen will be available for this console. Pre-sale of both products will start from October 20 in selected stores in Japan.

PS5 Midnight Black follows the same regional restrictions as the previous digital model, which was only released in Japan. To use this console, the user's PlayStation account must be set to the language and country or region of Japan. The black body of this model is also designed to coordinate with Sony's Midnight Black accessories, including the portable PS Portal.

This console is equipped with SSD memory with a capacity of 825 GB and does not have an internal disk drive. Internet access is required to connect and launch the disk drive on the console.

Sony also confirmed that this model will be included in the PS5 purchase plan in Japan; A plan that extends the manufacturer's standard one-year warranty period to two years if eligible purchases are registered within the specified period. This plan continues until March 31, 2027, and its use requires registration.
