Increasing the resilience of Shiraz mountain parks for autumn rains

Dredging and cleaning of canals and wells in Drak, Bam Sabz, Koh Noor and Babakohi mountain parks has been started to deal with the upcoming rains, an approach that, according to the director of elevation management of Shiraz Municipality, aims to improve the resilience of infrastructure against runoff and increases the safety factor of urban spaces in the rainy season.

According to Ambassador Arjan, the rainy season and the necessity of surface water management in the mountainous areas have prompted the management of heights of Shiraz Municipality to provide the necessary safety conditions in the prominent parks of this metropolis by adopting preventive measures.

Alireza Biabani, Director of Heights of Shiraz Municipality, pointed out the necessity of preparing the infrastructure of mountain parks to face the upcoming rains and stated: dredging operations of canals and wells of Drak, Bam Sabz, Koh Noor and Babakohi mountain parks are underway.

He added: This operation is carried out with the aim of cleaning the surface water channels, improving the performance of the water disposal infrastructure and reducing the possibility of problems caused by the accumulation of runoff during rains.

Biabani added: The implementation of these measures is one of the preventive plans of the height management to prepare the mountain parks on the eve of the rainy season, and in this regard, the relevant contractor, under the supervision of the technical and construction unit of this management, will follow the dredging operations in the predicted points.
