Qom - The community of teachers of Qom seminary, expressing concern about the restrictions imposed on veiled girls in the Republic of Azerbaijan, demanded the abolition of hijab restrictions in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan P. regarding the implementation of policies restricting hijab by the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the community of teachers of Qom Seminary addressed the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan and issued a statement as follows:
The Republic of Azerbaijan is a land with a brilliant history of Islamic culture and the love of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and the hijab, for Muslim women and girls of this land, is a manifestation of faith, religious identity and adherence to Islamic values.
The community of Qom seminary teachers, expressing concern about the restrictions imposed on veiled girls, expects the authorities of this country to respect the religious beliefs of the people, end any coercion in imposing non-religious clothing and not allow any girl to be deprived of the right to study and participate in the society due to adherence to the Islamic hijab.
Undoubtedly, respecting the religious beliefs of citizens is a sign of foresight and a foundation for trust and social solidarity. Religious beliefs cannot be removed from people's hearts by coercion and restrictions; Rather, wisdom and tolerance is a more appropriate way to manage society and protect human dignity.
Therefore, we benevolently recommend to the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who raise the slogan of social freedoms, to respect the religious rights of Muslims by revising the policies restricting the hijab, and to provide education and life with dignity and peace for veiled girls.
It is hoped that with planning and mutual respect, the way to preserve Islamic values, strengthen national solidarity and protect people's rights will be paved.
