Aiming for higher education should not mean eliminating universities and fields

Ilam - The secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution said: "The elimination of higher education should not mean the elimination of universities and disciplines."

According to Mehr reporter, Hojjatul-Islam Abdul Hossein Khosrupanah, at the meeting of the Provincial Thinker Board of the Science and Technology Headquarters of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution in Ilam, pointed out the need to review the decision-making process of higher education and stated: You cannot decide on the university capacities of a province in closed rooms and then communicate the results to the province. It is necessary for provincial officials, mother university and scientific groups to participate in the decision-making process.

He added: The aim of higher education should be followed with a detailed understanding of the needs and capacities of each province. This arrangement does not necessarily mean deletion, and in some cases, the annexation pattern can be used; A model that is different from integration and can maintain the budgetary and managerial independence of the relevant group.

The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution also said about the Islamic Azad University's request for the development of academic fields: Universities should follow up their requests through the central organization and related legal authorities. If the legal processes are followed but the necessary cooperation is not done, the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution can intervene to remove the obstacles.

Khosropanah further considered the implementation of upstream documents as one of the important responsibilities of universities, and referring to the comprehensive scientific map of the country and the document of the Islamic University, he clarified: these documents were compiled with the participation of a large number of professors and specialists, and now the most important issue is their implementation in universities. Academic administrators should study the contents of these documents and have an action plan according to the capacities of their collection.

Referring to the technological capacities of Ilam, he said: Knowledge-based companies whose plans have reached the level of technological readiness 6, should be supported to pass the next stages and enter the commercialization process. The development of technology is not achieved only by the production of articles, and the field of turning scientific achievements into products and wealth should also be provided.

Stating that proper infrastructure is very important for the establishment of technology companies, Khosrupanah added: The space limitation at the disposal of technology complexes should be taken into consideration and along with government support, investment and participation of non-governmental sectors should also be pursued.

He also considered the 430-kilometer common border between Ilam and Iraq as a capacity to expand academic and academic cooperation and said: "Developing international communication between universities and using the capacity of the neighboring country can be one of the axes of activity of the provincial think-tank board, provided that these cooperations are carried out within the framework of the relevant rules and regulations."

Referring to the importance of laboratory infrastructure, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution announced the pursuit of setting up a national laboratory in cooperation with the scientific vice president's office and stated: the access of researchers in provinces like Ilam to advanced equipment can help develop scientific and technological activities and strengthen the power of elites.
