Zelensky Refuses Trump's Call for Resignation and Elections

This statement was made in an interview with British TV host Piers Morgan.

Moscow, October 14. /TASS/. Volodymyr Zelensky has refused to resign and believes that it is impossible to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, which US President Donald Trump considers necessary.

"No, of course it's my responsibility," Zelenskiy said in an interview with British TV host Piers Morgan, parts of which were published on the TV host's social networking platform X.

In response to the question whether he considers it possible to hold presidential elections in Ukraine as Trump insists, Zelensky said: Of course not.

Zelensky's presidential term officially ended on May 20, 2024, but Kiev did not hold regular elections, claiming it was impossible until the end of martial law. On October 10, Trump said that Zelensky should hold an election and that he could have ended the conflict in Ukraine and made several peace agreements.
